The formula for multiplying the matrices is so simple!

Dang. I was about 90% of the way there, but got hung up on the matrix-inversion stuff. If I'd known I could have just used a spreadsheet!

second from bottom set at secondary school, an we were taught basic matrices at GCSE level, never got the hang of them but we were taught it.Ah, gotcha... a quick readup in my native language reminded me on how that worked....
Here's a bit of salt though: Matrices are more advanced algebra, I highly doubt that most people were teached those ever in their lifetime at one point or another

No guarantee that the next step is supposed to be active yet. It might, for instance, be tied to something happening on the Thursday restart.
That said, putting the next clue in Panjabell would be a tad too obvious. We already know what happened there - the Far God ships left from there, almost certainly with T7 as either a passenger or stowaway. The next task is probably to figure out where they went.
My guess is, this is the part where the NMLA and dredger clan and/or Salvation storylines connect up. Who more likely to have intelligence on a ship full of reclusive cultists that set out into deep space to poke Thargoids?
Make you wonder if Theta 7 is perhaps Salvation. After all Theta 7 or his people appears to have a good understanding of Thargoids technology.
I'm certainly waiting to find out that those separatist-minded Federal citizens getting picked up by PDB end up being scouted by NMLA or adjecent group in some way. It's interesting to also have seen that HBI happened to get mixed in here too.

My matrix multiplication classes from decades ago escape me. Does the fact that all the rows and columns of the key matrix sum to 7 naturally give rise to the average of every septet in the message being a multiple of 7? Or did the creators also have to massage the message and key to create that behavior? If they did, then here's an example of a cipher where creating the message was more difficult than decoding it.
Was it not in panjabell that the far gods mega ships have bin built. ?
