Just begs the question. Are they going to continue development of elite.?
Odyssey has cost em dear it seems.
The rebalance needs doing last year.
Exploits fixed
Networking fixed
Multicrew fixed
Piracy fixed
Smuggling fixed
Goid synths fixed
High profit gameplay loops closed.
I'm not a doom n gloomer. On the contrary.
I just want reassurance I'm not flogging a dead horse

And yes steam figures are an accurate reflection of logins. Perhaps not all. But most I would argue.

You do realise there ar 24 seperate hours in each day, not just one? Steam stats give you the number of players at the moment of the snapshot.
That isn't semantics - that is fact...
Why not take a reading every hour for a week (sleep is overrated anyway) then average the number over a 24 hour period to get players per day, then multiply by 30 to get an average per month, then multiply that by 4 to include consoles, epic and frontier logins?

I take the opposite view to the OP. More of my ED friends are in-game when I log in, the tide has been turning for Odyssey reviews for a few weeks now, and a couple more updates should have things back on track. Lots more people streaming ED too, and most are in Odyssey (apart from console streamers, of course.)

Ngalinn/Mainani still works.
Robigo still works.
Mining expansion missions still work.

Also: find new high profit gameplay loops. I made 2 billion a couple of weeks ago buying up meta-alloys from other Odyssey cmdrs, storing them on my carrier and flogging them on again. Then the price of meta alloys crashed soon after, and hasn't recovered yet. That's a dynamic market for you.

The game is nearly there again and you can see it in your contact lists which are slowly filling again. You even meet strangers in Open again which has not been the case since Bazmeson Month. For me, that's a much more reliable indicator than any arbitrary numbers 🤷‍♂️

And I'm still in VR on the old, outdated hardware and happily play for hours without fuss. Might be about time to write a positive Steam review now?

So why not try the other game for a while? I got it a couple of months ago and it took me less than two hours to discover it's not for me. I booted it up recently and it was even more laggy and janky than before, and don't get me started on losing all progression.

If it's any consolation, most of the youtubers who cover both games are getting double the views on many of their ED vids as they are on their 'other' game vids - something any of us can verify. Guess which game they're going to focus on?

To be fair I think their SC vids are doing just fine - but it's the ones who are still covering both where you can compare views. (E.g. D2EA)
