CG predictions...

Got excited for a minute that something big might be coming up, but looks like fdev are solving the permit availability problem for good - seeing m/s added for various permit holders, I imagine the others will be found:
  • The Silver Cove 69 G. Carinae Megaship
  • Meredith's Dream Alcor Megaship
  • Shadows Endurant Epsilon Eridani Megaship
  • Daunting Hammer Hecate Megaship
  • Shephard of the Mighty LP 91-140 Megaship
Speaking of megaships, i checked the Inara megaship list searching for any of a faction that could be associated with Advocacy, the civil rights group that defends the Scriveners. Didn't find anything.
Anyone who logs on Thursday morning should take a look at the dredger system, and check if any other megaship arrives there.

THETA SEVEN TRACED TO PANJABELL SYSTEM

16 NOV 3307
Pilots’ Federation ALERT
A decrypted message suggests that the NMLA leader Theta Seven avoided capture by infiltrating the Far God cult.
ACT publicly requested help to decode a message received by Theta Group, the bomb-making engineers of the NMLA. The cipher key was cracked and the decoded message submitted by Commander Therion Cygni. It revealed that Theta Seven and his closest aides fled to the Panjabell system on the 31st of July.
Captain Milo Castile, one of ACT’s co-leaders, provided an update:
“Our theory is that Theta Seven and his crew were travelling undercover as Far God worshippers, who were gathering in the Panjabell system in huge numbers at that time. Since all members of this religious order renounce their past identities, this would have helped the terrorists to avoid detection.”
“The Pleiades Concordat and other factions in Panjabell are cooperating with our investigation. But it seems likely that Theta Seven is currently hiding aboard one of the three Far God megaships that were launched from the system on the 6th of August.”
“ACT agents have attempted to contact the Perdition, Sacrosanct and Testament megaships to alert them of the danger. Unfortunately the cultists consider themselves to be on a sacred pilgrimage that cannot be impeded, and that their vessels are ‘sanctuaries from further persecution by hostile security services’.”

Typical, I bet they are tax exempt too...

A rare example of an earlier CG success raising the difficulty, I think?

If the Panjabell CG had only reached Tier 1, this would be a lot easier to figure out.

I think Perdition works as a 'T7 hitches a lift, gets off in AB-W b2-4 and travels 70 Ly to Salvations Bright Sentinel in Merope' plot

(From eddb it looks like Bright Sentinel jumped into Merope 8 weeks ago). It would be cleaner if the dates made for a Merope transfer (might do with more thinking). Though you'd still be left wondering what T7 was doing in Merope for the last 8 weeks ...

Do you mean Perdition? Bright sentinel was recently leaving Mbooni on 28 October. Source: https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Mbooni

It doesn't look like it lines up. If he was going to wait in Merope for 8 weeks for Bright Sentinel, he could just have gone there directly rather than involving the Far God Cult at all.

The time Bright Sentinel has been in Merope is pretty much exactly the wrong time for a transfer - it didn't arrive until several weeks after the Perdition left, and it'll be leaving again before the Perdition gets back.

The Far God ships were commissioned on the 6 Aug - if they jump every 2 weeks then it would be at Merope in 4 weeks time on the 2 Sept - 16 Sept

The Bright Sentinel jumped to Merope 54 days ago which I think is ... Sept 23. So yeah, he'd have to wait around if he got off in Merope - or stay on and jump back 70 Lt from AB-W. I don't see the 8 weeks wait for Bright Sentinel - he waits on for 8 weeks, but if he needs a trip through the permit barrier around Mbooni 🤷‍♀️ (or I've got the dates wrong - not seen any specific jump dates for the Far God ships, so could all be wrong :) ).

Who says Theta is on the megaship? My guess is he's elsewhere and its the bombs stowed on the megaships. Although its great cover on a Far God MS once its under way that cover becomes less effective as you have a finite number of people to hide among.

All just wild theories - that's what we do here :)

Edit: It would be a nice plot twist - "See that terrorist you've been trying to stop? His backer was that guy you were supporting against Aegis". Or something.

I think you're right about the dates for Perdition, but I don't think Bright Sentinel has been in Mbooni that long - it jumped as part of this https://community.elitedangerous.com/galnet/uid/617a92af979938635b475461 (and we commented at the time that it was suspicious that it had scheduled that jump in advance)

So either he's waiting for several weeks in Merope for the Bright Sentinel to arrive, or he travels forward from Panjabell at that point using his own transport, neither of which really seem to fit with a "lying low with the FGC" plan. If he was really heading for Mbooni, then getting aboard the Bright Sentinel the first time it went there (23 Sept is just after the attack on Cornsar, so EDDB is probably showing the "commissioned" date, not the arrival date)

Ah gotcha! That was my mistake - the eddb change history doesn't seem to show it changing system so I assumed it was when it made the jump to merope (y)

NMLA RETAKES THE STEEL MAJESTY

17 NOV 3307
A former Neo-Marlinist megaship has been overrun by NMLA terrorists in the Hyades Sector RO-P b6-2 system.
The Steel Majesty was originally owned by the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid, one of the NMLA’s key allies. After their defeat, it ferried many of them to the Marlinist Colonies where they were granted asylum by Minister Aaron Whyte. His faction then made use of the megaship during the civil war in August.
Minister Jean-Christophe Lyon, the current leader of the Marlinism Reformation Party, gave a statement:
“Despite our efforts to arrest any remaining extremists within our faction, a surviving group has gained access to the megaship. Security feeds show they were joined by several teams of well-armed NMLA fighters.”
“The Marlinist Constabulary evacuated around half of the Steel Majesty’s crew before the NMLA took operational control. Sadly, there is no way to free those still trapped onboard.”
The situation was addressed by ACT’s co-leader Captain Milo Castile:
“According to our intel, a majority of the NMLA’s surviving cells have gathered together for this operation. We believe they were assisted by not only Aaron Whyte’s loyalists, but also members of the megaship’s original crew from the Mudhrid system.”
“It is possible that this Neo-Marlinist coalition was formed as a result of us closing in on Theta Seven. We have requested additional support from all security services.”

Guess they'll be off to defend Theta-7 as one half of the upcoming CG, then.

Also bloody hell, Whyte's still causing trouble after all this. But if this is the majority of remaining cells, then we may finally be approaching the endgame. Maybe. Will three defeats for the Steel Majesty be enough?
