Launcher button not working in Odyssey

I'm not sure what caused this to happen, but when I tried to log into the game via the launcher, the "Play" button refused to take me any further into the game, whereas, when I tried it with Horizens, it worked first time. Any ideas please?

I am having the same problem since yesterday after Windows 11 was installed. ED: Horizons can be started from the Launcher, ED: Odyssey cannot be started. EliteDangerous64.exe can be started but it stops at some point suggesting to start ED:O from the Launcher... .

Although the problem temporarily resolved itself, it has been working sporadically on and off for the past 2/3 weeks. This morning I'm having the same problem, no matter what I do, I cannot get the game to launch through all normal methods. I am enclosing a youtube link to show you the problem first hand.

I would be extremely grateful if you're would be so kind to keep this page I've posted civil and kind towards the posters and readers, where not here for a beef with anybody, we just want to get the problem sorted.

Have you tried verifying the installaion via Steam? Not sure it would work but, at this point, it is worth it to try everything!

I was able to resolve my problem with the ED Launcher. I also tried verifying my installation via Steam and via ED Lanucher, both methods didn't help me. Frontier Support told me my GPU would be too slow/old and they couldn't help me. As a last desperate act I uninstalled ED via Steam completely and deleted all remaining files in the folder where Steam kept the ED program files. After that I made a fresh/clean installation via Steam and ED (and Launcher) is working again as intended.

OPERATING SYSTEM change
in the launcher options there is a log of machine function this tells the servers to expect a new machine next login
(I presume you used this b4 changing to WIN 11)
not doing that can cause the new"pc" trouble cause that's basically what it is and the servers are expecting your old machine which the cloud save doesn't quite recognize game assets
jus my 2 bits worth that may ease your worries when changing OS Again
