That's been happening on and off since wave 1 of 3.15.0 PTU...I posted some screenies back then when @Intrepid3D turned into a Lovecraftian nightmare
If I had watched that tosh first, I might not have spent some store credit on one
I funded it and I'm really excited, but I hope the devs realize what's on their shoulders. I assume they do, being experienced and having gotten so far already, but...
They had at least 10m of private investor funding lined up. Maybe even more now thanks to the crowdfunding's record breaking success.
I'm wetting myself in anticipation already.
Sorry, it's 100+ now. And consider the size... they're also adding new ones every other week or something, they said. quality over quantity.
He said they want to do a lot of content on a near weekly basis after release because it'll tie into gameplay like star systems for example. Say now a new star system comes out every 2 weeks or whatever, they don't "announce" it, it's just implemented,
I think the AAA publishing is collapsing.
Just the fact that he's still bringing in "private investors" to the mix has me nervous. I still backed him, but...
Free Mod tools and dedicated private servers. This game has a long and varied life ahead of it!![]()
havent funded and wont, but I am hoping for this to turn into something good. I expect it to be delayed alot thought.
With the team he has I doubt there will be a massive delay.
Two or three months from the original goal? That's more then acceptable. I'll just play the beta until it comes out. Finally someone tries to do it right.
I thought hitting 5.5m and earning the Bengal was as far as it was going to go
These guys are going to have all they need to make a great game, and no publishers! I have faith that they will come out with a fantastic product, the likes of which hasn't been seen in ages, and will continue to help it grow after launch.
This will be a glorious return to form to the classic space combat simulator
I have faith in Chris Roberts. The only thing he ever screwed up was the Wing Commander movie. Even Strike Commander, with all its foibles was a really good game.
Ok, that's it. No more going out drinking for me. I'm saving up for the next two years so I can buy a PC that will run the bleeping bleep out of this.
The dawn of the golden age is at hand.
Meh, most folk were excited back at the start of it, I was one of them...since those early days of optimism, most have refunded or just not been around since they spent however much they spent to get the project off the ground. Those that are left from back then are more cynics than optimists these days...some like me still playing what's there whilst watching the padawans pull on the mantle of optimism from the dusty coathook where we left it abandonedA trip down memory lane and into the minds of the early faithful

No, i don't think they did know
Whatever happened to those?
He's probably in an ocean of wetness by now
Regarding systems.,..
A new system every other week because they want quality over quantity?!!!
Oh my, they really thought that?
9 years later AAA publishing still not collapsed.
I wonder what he thinks now of the Calder investment.
Bahwahwaaahaaa
And he got downvoted, surprise surprise.
Ooops.
Hah, just multiply that number by 100 and still no game.
Faithful indeed
Well, a glorious return to form for Chris Roberts, expanding scope massively, spending way more than original estimated, and not actually releasing a product.
Gotta have faith! Strange how he never heard of Freelancer.
Hahahahaaaaa...
I wonder if they considered that the golden age might be less gold and more brown...
Took a look at the post history of some of the posters in that thread. A number were deleted already. Maybe moved on and no longer interested in SC or games at all perhaps. Life goes on. One was suspended. Maybe they defended SC too vehemently at some point. Most of the others i don't see any posts in /r/sc. For people who were so excited about SC, didn't see any who still appear interested (although i only checked a few, wasn't going to check everyone).
Yup...the cause of my rage quitting yesterday. This exploding ship rubbish is getting old very quickly...especially tied into losing all your gear every time it happensYeah there’s a lot of that on reddit. Seems to happen at point of dismount for some reason.

Jitter is part of the core of CryEngine physics. It's been there from the start, remember the shaky Freelancer... Unless they rewrite the whole physics engine, it's here to stay, forever. The "moving maps" colliding with infinite damage is one of the results of their shoddy patchwork of an engine. Finding a work around will be convoluted, complicated, heavy, and cost a few more millions...That's all fine and dandy Ci¬G, now fix the bloody thing. It's been happening since wave 1 of 3.15.0 PTU and yet they still felt it was fine enough for a live release whilst testing 'Random and untimely death of a spaceman™' and 'Strangely vanishing inventory ®'...![]()
And dont forget the $400 - 500 million to go with it.Here's to 9 more years of alpha!
This is only a thing since the 3.15 ptu though...it never used to happen, certainly not with any regularity...even with the old jittery Freelancers and the like back in 2.6 and 3.2. They jittered but didn't do ship damage when they were jittering. This recent nonsense all came about with remodeling the damage states to tie in with the combat balancing....which is all fine if it only happened during combat, now it's happening when you've landed, engines off and are stationary.Jitter is part of the core of CryEngine physics. These idiots bought the 'Deemer wanting or expecting it to fly like a Gladius but hit like an Idris...it flies like a school bus for a reason
