CG predictions...

Ugh, I probably won't have time to do a cargo run for the CG because of BGS stuff, but I really want to in the admittedly unlikely case that it's something that puts you in contact with the Scriveners like the Salvation thing where you can subscribe to his mailing list by scanning the adamastor.

At least it makes the two sides fairly balanced, since they should be using the same ships. When it's empire vs independant, the empire is pretty screwed, due to the firepower of the 3C ships, unless players tip the scales who know the drives weakness of those ships.

As reported last week :)

GATEKEEPER MEGASHIPS ESTABLISHED

24 NOV 3307
Factions responsible for the distribution of conditional access permits have deployed so-called Gatekeeper megaships to neighbouring systems.
The agreement between 14 factions intends to allow permit distribution procedures to continue regardless of the political status of the associated systems. Though the reason for system access restrictions varies between the factions, preventing any disruption to interstellar trade was a key factor in the talks.
A spokesperson for Alioth Independents, one of the factions involved, offered the following:
“It is rare that so many participants from across the core systems are able to reach an agreement so easily. These megaships will ensure that the flow of traffic within our respective borders remains appropriately controlled, providing support for the permit offices in those systems.”
“Only a few short years ago, the system of Tiliala saw disruption in assigning permits to eligible visitors due to political disturbances. The Panjabell system experienced this problem again within recent months. These lessons have inspired us to prevent further repetitions in the future.”
“I would like to thank each faction representative for their contributions to maintaining consistency in our methods for the ease of pilots, recognising the valuable contributions they make to the galactic economy.”
Permit distribution to eligible recipients will still be carried out remotely.

edit: Ahem - looks like a typo with Panjabell meaning Peregrina ..
edir2: Also no mention of the switch from 15Lt -< 20Ly permits which some have suggested has happened

FAR GOD MEGASHIP HIJACKED BY THETA SEVEN

24 NOV 3307
NMLA figurehead Theta Seven has taken control of the Sacrosanct megaship and redirected it to the Mudhrid system.
Several months ago, the leader of Theta Group and his closest aides evaded capture by posing as members of the Far God cult. One of their pilgrimage vessels, the Sacrosanct, has now bypassed its scheduled flight plan and jumped to Mudhrid.
ACT’s joint leader Captain Milo Castile broadcast an emergency statement:
“We can confirm that despite being few in number, the terrorists are in command of the Sacrosanct. Since Far God worshippers are pacifists and fatalistic in nature, it’s likely that they offered little resistance.”
“Theta Seven has stated that he will wipe out the vessel’s entire population if any attempt to seize the vessel is made. Our intel suggests he possesses caustic enzyme explosives of the type used in the starport bombings, making his threat credible.”
Also in the system is the Steel Majesty megaship, recently overtaken by the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid. ACT believes that the NMLA is regrouping its forces and aims to provide protection for Theta Seven.
Mudhrid’s ruling faction, the Epsilon Fornacis Empire Group, has ordered system security to shoot down any vessels attempting to pass between the two megaships.

Theta-7 now taking his own set of hostages, though it's unlikely to matter given the alternative is letting the NMLA get away scot-free (and there are probably a couple of people who will see the murder of Far God worshippers as an incentive)

So its like a reverse Battlestar Galactica, except Starbuck is a crazed terrorist?

Nooooo.
Just leave the far god-ist alone, nasty terrorist.
They're on a much more important mission to peacefully engage with the Thargoids, well away from all of your superficial infighting human problems.

This is an odd bit of the strategy if it's actually what ACT are thinking it is. Capture two megaships and meet up to give Theta Seven more defence, sure.

But why in Muhdrid specifically? Plenty of rather less organised systems where they could regroup with much less interference.

Boo the mega ship is not landable class so it won't be the base For the CG and is not displayed on system map as you can't land...
Stations over 5Kls from CZ currently..

Reminds me I need to hand in some data for that CG - even the top 75% payout is worthwhile for the small amount of data required (y)
Don't matter at all to me - 14 runs data gave me 196000 = top 2 or 3 (192MCr)!
14 runs for cargo (with 728T T9) would be (profit 14 x 5.6M = 78M) + crappy 18MM top 25%. DUH!!!!.
Any way, got (or getting) 12M (+ 20M profit) also for top 50% CG with just 4 runs ( which were v boring) just to see.

It's almost sweet, the way you think you've done well here

You've made less than 15 million credits per hour (maybe closer to 10 mill), doing a profoundly boring activity. If you're a newbie who's just started the game, then good for you - that's a pretty decent return. But for an experienced player, there are many, many ways to make more money, quicker, and have more fun doing it.

Nobody on the trade side of this CG is doing it for the credits. They did it to win the CG, which they are pretty much guaranteed to do in a few hours :)

In fact, the lead is so big that I felt it was OK to spend 5 minutes handing in a little bit of data for the other side. Top 50%, so that's 48MCr in a few minutes. Thanks for helping to get that side as high as Tier 3, it's much appreciated :p

During any CG:
"Booo, players do it only for profits, are all bad, and will support criminals, if they pay well. Noone interested by story."

Scrivs CG:
"Nobody did it for money, we want win, because we are good guys"

:D

Okay.
Observing this CG (% on inara, and both topics) to be fair was more interesting than trade and relogs :)
