Summary
System: Mudhrid
Station: Steel Majesty (Megaship, large pads available, 1,691 Ls from main star, 107.65 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Hand in Combat Bonds after fighting for Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid in Conflict Zones
Time limit: 2nd December 3307 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
The Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid and the Epsilon Fornacis Empire Group have declared war in the Mudhrid system.
The Steel Majesty megaship is serving as the base of the Neo-Marlinist forces. These include many surviving NMLA terrorist cells that gathered to overtake the vessel from the Marlinist Colonies.
Also in the system is the Far God cult megaship Sacrosanct, where the NMLA’s de facto leader Theta Seven and the remnants of Theta Group have been in hiding for months. Margrave Corentin Delacroix, ruler of the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid, broadcast a call to arms:
All those who seek to topple the Duval dictators must fight alongside us here and now. Neo-Marlinism has no future unless its believers defend it.
In an effort to draw support from independent pilots, the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid is offering a uniquely augmented unmodifiable Class 2 Rating B enzyme missile rack with increased caustic damage and capacity. The module will be delivered to the top 25% of contributors providing Tier 1 is reached.
The two factions have set out seven-day campaigns, which will end when the top tier is reached by either faction or early on Thursday the 2nd of December 3307.
To be eligible for rewards you must sign up as an active participant before handing in Combat Bonds at the Steel Majesty megaship in the Mudhrid system.
Please note that if you have any crew members, a proportion of your combat bonds will be automatically assigned to them. These combat bonds will not count towards your personal contribution total, and your crew will receive the reward for these combat bonds when they are handed in. The proportion of combat bonds assigned to your crew will depend on their rank.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Competing with Imperial CG
  • Steel Majesty is at planet 3
  • Megaship services: Commodities Market, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space

One CG has engineered module reward, the other does not. Wonder which one people will go for...

Both, but probably the NMLA will get some traction due to the enzyme dumbfires (tbh, they're rather crap doing damage over time - DOT)

so.... 2b alien J*zz juice rack for the baddies. and nothing (besides credits) for the goodies.
Given the EFEG's statements that suggest a casual disregard for collateral casualties, they aren't exactly holding much in the way of moral high ground. Support the terrorists and maybe the hostages live (no guarantees though) or support the authorities and apparently doom most of the hostages. Whoever wins, there will be blood. As for the shiny, it's kind of meh, maybe situationally useful for some? It's not so much 'gold and diamonds' as 'pinchbeck and cubic zirconium'.

Taking the long term cynical view, for my Epic alt, it would be better for Theta to escape and hit some more Imperial stations so they can earn brownie points for station rescues and improve their Imperial rank.

The top 25% will get the dumb missile launcher (if it reaches tier 1), even if the other side win?

That is how it reads, yes.
So...everyone who wants to support the good guys and don't care about the missiles SHOULD still contribute a very small amount to the missile side so that it's easier for those who want the missiles to get in the 25% while making it easier for the Good guys to win the overall CG as the missiles top 25% will have to contribute less to get them. ;)(y)

Could any devs confirm if it's the same module as previously? Because as far as I can tell, that one didn't have increased caustic damage, just the base explosive damage.

I could ask, though it's a bit late on a Friday now, but the descriptions of what this CG is offering is pretty clear in the text:
...a uniquely augmented unmodifiable Class 2 Rating B enzyme missile rack with increased caustic damage and capacity
So if the previous one didn't have increased caustic damage, and this one does, then no, it's not the same module as before ...

The one from the old CG also gave that description, unfortunately. https://inara.cz/galaxy-communitygoals/?page=10 "If Tier 1 is reached, the top 10% of participants will receive a uniquely augmented class 2 rating B increased caustic damage and capacity enzyme missile rack."

However, from my testing back then, it did not actually have increased caustic damage. It's possible that something changed since then.

Okay, just tested it out again: It killed a 45hp taipan with its shields disabled in 25 seconds. That's 34.5 damage in 25 seconds, or about 1.4 damage per second, pretty much in keeping with previous tests, so I can be reasonably confident the old one has not been changed. I suppose it's possible it behaves differently in Odyssey, but I don't own that so I can't test that.
