DLC & Expansion Pack Ideas

Same as what Frontier did with JWE we're bound to get DLC and expansions so here are some of my ideas.

1. Dominion DLC - Feather skins and new dinosaurs featured on the film.
2. Campaign expansion - It was short and ended suddenly but don't wanna walk on any shoes until Dominion hence why no raptors, T-Rex or Mosasaurus featured in the campaign.
3. Hybrids New/Old - Spinoraptor and Stegoceratops were awesome but now with Aviaries and Lagoon there is potential for flying and marine hybrids.
4. Marine Pack - Dino turtles, fish and sharks...Megladon!
5. Aviary Pack - More flying reptiles.
6. Non-Dinosaur and Amphibian Packs - Without getting too close to becoming Planet Zoo we could have some other prehistoric animals like Titanboa, Woolly Mammoth, Phorusrhacos and Postosuchus

JWE2 is underperforming in sales pretty significantly (it's about half as many copies as JWE1 for a similar spot in the timeline), so I'd err towards lower expectations on the amount of DLC overall (a years worth of support seems most likely).

There also doesn't seem to be a December paid DLC lined up, so my current estimate is 4-5 overall (not counting free content).

In terms of likely themes, Owen themed was a popular suggestion, sometimes revolving around the idea of animal training (could essentially be nature vs nurture on the trait system).

According to our first dlc the early cretaceous pack i would think about this:

Dinosaur packs:

• Early Jurassic Pack
• Late Triassic Pack
• Small Creature Pack
• Giants of the Mesozoic Pack

Story DLC:

• Dominion DLC
• New Attraction DLC
• New Old World DLC

Maybe some other small ones

I like them, they're in the franchise, and I would give Frontier money for them. No more reasons necessary.

Then go play something else, please... when the first DLC pack arrives, there will be 86 semi-real animals available for use versus 2 hybrids... it's not gonna kill you hybrid haters to spare a few slots for the hybrid fans...

This aged like milk... as astonishing as it seems, they actually made a DLC pack for December... one month after the game was released. Curious what that means for the planned release schedule... do they plan on making quarterly DLC like Planet Zoo?

Personally, I find the idea of a dinosaur training DLC featuring Owen bizarre... what exactly would we train the animals to do?

Owen themed DLC was often mentioned only because in JWE1 other characters received DLC centered on them, like Secrets of Dr Wu and Claire's Sanctuary, and speculation came from a time before we got Raptor Squad skins which was its most speculated feature. This pattern has most certainly been broken and Owen doesn't make sense for it anyway.

It's so sad to see as only option, DLC's with only new creatures, when missing in the game new mechanics. I much prefer DLC's with new mechanics than just new creatures

Note: New creatures are welcome, but new mechanics and gameplay improvements should be the focus

It's the very first DLC... which honestly came much sooner than I would have ever expected... give it time...

Sure! These are just ideas for the long-term future. But certainly it's too early to add so much.

Yeah, I was basing it off the steamDB partly, there literally wasn't anything there till after the announcement, as opposed to the seemingly month in advance minimum of JWE1 for an unnamed DLC to pop up.

JWE1 fits pretty well with the general Frontier timelines of Planet Zoo and Coaster (March/April, June/July, September/October, December), the only exception being extra November DLCs.

I know we can´t get them all, but i tried to Group some of the scientific most important of each Timeperiod together.

Trias: 1.) Eudimorphodon 2.) Plateosaurus 3.) Nothosaurus 4.) Liliensternus
Early Jurassic: 1.) Campylognathoides 2.) Temnodontosaurus 3.) Lesothosaurus 4.) Leseemsaurus ( Trias,.. but could have still exist in Early Jurassic)
Middle Jurassic: 1.) Ramphorhynchus 2.) Metriorhynchus 3.) Monolophosaurus 4.) Yanchuanosaurs
Late Jurassic: 1. ) Archeopterix 2.)Ophtalmosaurus 3.) Torvosaurs 4.) Europasaurus

New Attractions could be :
1.) Jurassic River Ride ( Like the "jurassic world The Ride" Boats in shellow water and Lagoons )
2.) VIP Heli-Shutlle-Tour ( Landing places like the one in JWE I "Return to JP " ..... as Option for smal maps instead of the Monorail.
3 Submarine Tour ( Something like the "Triton 3" personal Submarines) .... like a gyrosphere for the Lagoons

Story DLC :
Ranger first Person Mode: You can walk/drive/ Fly through your Park and do your duty . Drones could be controled manually like the Jeeps now.
New Ranger vehicles :1. Quad . 2. Singleseater Drone 3.small Hovercraft 4. 2 Seater Submarine like in JW II

I know it´s a long Wishlist,.... but hey we can dream !

As to themes for animal packs, it feels like the Jurassic or Triassic being split up is unlikely, the safe way to sell an Early Jurassic pack in particular would've been Cryolophosaurus.

I'm assuming story DLC is on the horizon again, I'm also thinking they might introduce a Tropic-Dry Savanna type of environment with one (it's the main Planet Zoo biome missing).
