My dreams? Well...
looks longingly at saiga
dreams of ponds filled with twenty kinds of waterfowl
pines after racoons and red river hogs
What I actually think will happen on the other hand...
I'm not certain if we'll get a flighted aviary pack or not, though I very much hope we do.
I do think we'll get more birds, even if they are mostly ground-based rattites and waterfowl, because the community wants birds, and Frontier does seem to listen to the community. I wouldn't be surprised if we ended 2022 with four or five more non-penguin birds with one or two making an appearance each pack. Which isn't great, but it's better than nothing.
I would be ecstatic about any of the following:
Rhea
Kiwi
Emu
Secretary bird
Grey crowned crane
Shoebill
Capercaillie
Himalayan monal
Golden pheasant
Mandarin duck
Muscovy duck
Bar headed goose
Black swan
Mute swan
Whooping crane
White napped crane
Roseate spoonbill
Helmeted Guineafowl
Any tragopan
Any pelican
Any stork
For the packs themselves, I suspect we'll get biomes: tropical, temperate, grassland, and desert. Technically, we already had a tundra/taiga pack with the Arctic pack.
I would hope for all animal packs, but at least one of them will probably be a 5+1 scenery pack to keep the builders interested.
Capybara and dromedary will both happen and at least 15 animals from the meta list top 20 will be added. We may even get a Malaysian tapir added eventually (joke).
I also think that DLCs will keep coming as long as the community keeps buying them and they're profitable to turn out.
And maybe, maybe, when support does eventually end, the final dlc will be a modders toolkit, so we can add all of the wonderful creatures who didn't make the cut, and give this game a fantastic afterlife making the zoos of our dreams.
