Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Fair enough. Pretty sure that some of the most savvy onlookers of the Enron and Theranos cases at the time also said something along those lines.
I just play games, I'm not a financial investor, nor do I have an emotional investment in the product...SC when it works can be quite a good game...when it's broken, it's a complete pain. It's only an offshoot of the marketing venture of course, but I've been aware of that for some considerable time. If I'm lucky, the game might eventually get to a stage where it's more playable...and complete... than not, if it doesn't...I'm sure there'll be others to capture my attention 🤷‍♂️

Another pause for dramatic effect...That may be important to you...for me, not so much :)
Fair enough again. I just find it interesting that you take 4 or 5 posts over less than half an hour to tell me how unimportant this is apparently to you 😋 But seriously now, if this is of no interest to you you just need not to answer to those posts. Easy.

SC players react to ScamCitizen! posters much as people react to environmental protesters - with a bemused 'well, yes, you may have a point, but you are keeping me from my latte ...'

Fully aware of the history before 3.15 Mole. It is precisely that “alpha card” that I was in fact alluding to. 9 years of it. Wipes after 9 years are still a thing. Let that sink in. Also if you think the wipe wasn’t done in big part to further promote and incentívate new sales CIG still has a few bridges left to sell,

You are probably just to used to elite where credit exploits run wild and frontier never does anything about it. You do play other games, right?

CIG is also an expert at making backers normalize abuse. I was just remarking on something I have noticed. Clouds are pretty but they are far from being in all locations. Quite simple.

In the mean time CIG is still heavily marketing and probably seriously profiting from selling something that may be actually seriously broken, as you say, and quite incomplete without any in depth market reviews and scores to help inform potential new buyers. So par for the course really for the last 9 years. Let’s see when working as expected clouds are finally delivered everywhere required. 90 days tops?

Different worlds have different atmospheric conditions and from an art perspective require different clouds.

The Lagrange point clouds are gas clouds, they are also volumetric clouds, they look different to planet clouds, they are even a different type of volumetric cloud tech.

Crusader is a gas giant, from around 10,000KM altitude they look stunning with a lot of detail.

But from inside they can look flat and featureless, the reason being is they are massive so from close up you don't see those details.

MicroTech is much smaller and earth like, so it has earth like clouds both in scale and shape.

Hurston is another earth like planet but has a mildly toxic atmosphere, the clouds there might look quite different, for a start it has an atmospheric hue ranging from purple to red.

ArcCorp is similar to MicroTech, i suspect that will be the next planet to get cloud tech.

Most of the moons also have an atmosphere but they are all various toxic gasses, if they get clouds again they would need to look different, alien, others like Aberdeen has an incredibly thick atmosphere, it is already covered in a thick yellow volumetric gas.

The point is they need to R&D different visual aspects of clouds for all the different planets and moons, its a systematic thing, once its done they get added individually.
