❄️ Planet Zoo: Europe Pack arriving 14 December ❄️

I feel like Capybara would be too complex to just hand out for free. Unlike the BaW Ruffed Lemur (which was amazingly done btw), it would require alot of new animations and possibly an edited rig. I t could also easily be a star animal for a DLC.
i would be more than happy to pay for it though, but I am doubtful that we will ever see these 1 animal kind of DLCs.

Great idea! Aren't there parts of Nuremberg and Bamberg which are called "Little Venice", too? :) And beautiful castles, I recognized Hohenschwangau immediately!
I can just speek for Bamberg but yes, there is " Little Venice " but when I think of Nuremberg I also can imagine that there is a part of the city called like that.

I also always wonder why some people think we might get a free capybara. I say this will never ever happen. Such a popular animal among the community will be used as a headliner for a DLC. The black and white ruffed lemur as only example for a present was ranked very low on the meta wishlist (edit: It had 3 votes) and it was an "easy-to-make" animal which is not the case for the capybara. In general I have doubts that there will be something like a free animal in Christmas

I don’t want anything for free. But I hope they would change a DLC models a bit for 2022 and put more animals in them. More like expansion packs. More animals for more money. At least 10 in one pack.
Maybe a Library of most wanted species where you can decide what you want the most and buy animals separately.
Right now we need to face the fact that most of the meta wishlist species won’t make it to the game and we can realistically count on 12 maybe maximum 15 species from the very top of the list.

I don’t mind the idea of Christmas lights and the basic design is pretty but the European animals playing instruments is a random and not exactly versatile concept. I can’t ever imagine using those.
Same, sadly. Big shame because I love heraldic designs, it was my focus in art GCSE at school, but the instruments are just too linked to the story to really fit in a random zoo.
I don’t think, the animals in the signs play instruments because of the story.
It’s the other way around: The nice story featured music playing animals because of the signs.

And those signs are not exactly without medieval examples:

Really, those medieval people were a quite humorous and life-affirming lot!
They had fun drawing weird stuff and signs featuring instrument playing animals are far from unrealistic.

I think that‘s stretching it somewhat.

🤔 Maybe it's because I'm no native English Speaker but I don't have a Clue what's meant with Coach.
Would be nice to also get a Semi-trailer Truck because I'd like to create more realistic looking Backstage Areas and this could be nice for the Place where Animals and Food will arrive (even better if it's similar to the Billboards, so we can put our Zoo Name or Zoo Logo on the Side of it)
I had that in one of my zoos. It doesn't work. Guest will enter through the ticket gate, then go back to the shops outside

I don’t think it’s an established enough motif to merit inclusion on a zoo or town’s Christmas lights.
Fair enough.

Still, it’s far from an uncommon motive (just google “medieval illuminations animals”; I just linked some of the pictures), it’s lighthearted and even represented in a well known fairy tale. Those pictures probably inspired FDev’s artists and from there, their imagination ran wild ...

Anyway, I just wanted to point out, that the motives in themselves are not completely baseless (and surely more appropriate than a rabbit chopping off a knight’s head ... ;) ).
Personally, I don’t even fancy the Christmas decorations either. (Too specific to a short period in the year).
I’m basically playing the devil’s advocate and ask for an open mind regarding the developers’ choice.

Looking at the release time, it appears to be later than the NA pack. Sad news, I'll already be heading to work at the time it comes out. Hopefully I can grab some animals in the evening!

I don't think it's reaching - I think you're exactly right. It's a common medieval European motif, and Frontier played on it for their European animal decorations.

My favorite medieval Art Pieces with Animals include giant Rabbits impaling People and Knights fighting against Giant Snails 😂 (someone should make this a Quest in a RPG. Someone tells you to protect their Vegetable Garden from Snails, so you get a Bucket of Salt and then the giant Snail appears and you need to fight it😆)

Thanks for the Information 🙁
Maybe it depends on the Distance to the Zoo Entrance (I want them to walk a While through the City after leaving the Spawner). If not, I might still place one as Decoration without a Shop inside of it. But maybe it won't cause too many Problems, I mean they probably won't all want to visit that Food Truck

😂 I love medieval Art (and the great Meme Potential it has)

So, would having a companion housecat as enrichment for the lynx be too much? 🙃

(IIRC St. Petersburg zoo has that, and is utterly heartwarming even if it was an accident).
Some very small Zoos/Wildparks do also have domesticated Cats roaming around, so it might also be useful if you want to build a small Zoo/Wildpark or something like a Farm that Guests can pay to visit (even though we would definitely need more Farm Animals first. Currently really fitting for a Farm would only be the Llama, the Ostrich, the Fallow Deer to some Extent, not sure about Red Kangaroos but you can at least buy their Meat)
Also didn't really realize until now how small Eurasian Lynxes are compared to Housecats

It was quite a distance with mine and I still had that problem - the game is telling them that only guests can buy at zoo shops. I'd recommend leaving the original entrance (since they pay there), building your shop and building a new fake entrance thereafter.

Looks like release is at 2pm GMT. Hoping some Youtubers will have been given the pack ahead of time so there’ll be some overviews to watch. May be a few days until I can play!
