Updated my post with the coordinates for Horizons, it's about 8km from the odyssey location and it should show up on DSS - if it doesn't you can drop out and re-enter supercruise to try to fix that.

Give me 15 minutes for this update to install, and I’ll let ya known. I really hope it still works regardless, seeing a swarm of thargons explode in a big flash will be satisfying.
I'm on my way to collect it and see. Otherwise I really don't see the point other than it being a useless gimmick
It's a firework launcher, I guess.
Having a regular easy puzzle like this every now and then that that you can solve on your own without having to search everything in a 50ly radius is very welcome.
The reward is also really cool and totally my thing and I really hope we get more colors of this!

That's a bit much asked for, isn't it? Next you want heart shaped explosions and letters written in the sky.
You can change the colour of the afterglow of the explosion by using custom weapon colours

It's useless. Took it into combat. Shot a swarm multiple times scoring direct hits and not a singe one died.

When we celebrated the repair of 3 starports at Operation Ida we used chaff for fireworks..

Three Winking Cat stashes have been found so far, I think these are all reasonably solveable solo from reading the relevant galnet articles and following up on some in game lore. I'm reposting a recap/summary from the cannon discord written by Fulgen:

Thanks to @Disemboweled Ego for figuring it out so quickly. Methinks there's probably some sort of convoluted way of solving it, and the lads who came up with this are probably FUMING that it was solved so quickly!
The flak launcher looks pointless, though. I haven't gotten it yet, but by the looks of it, it's purely decorative since all the damage has been stripped via the experimental effect?
