Had a great session last night that kept me up until nearly 3AM and now I am dog tired at work. Thanks, Frontier!
While the wife was away at night school I had been racking up some fat credits doing mining. Good time, not bad, became a rich man.
Wife gets home, we get pizza and beer and then she turns in early. Nice! More Elite.
This time I'm just doing whatever my hear contents. See a pirate, kill it; see a great price on a commodity snag it up and deliver; connecting system has undiscovered stuff in it, go exploring; find some planetary rings, mine em....seriously just all over the place having lots of fun....then
Then, my wife wakes up (perhaps cursing at a sidewinder that was out turning my cobra is not the quietest of things). At this point, I'm thinking, darn we gotta watch TV now (my PC is my TV--dual monitor set up with a 42inch plasma and a 23inch LCD).
BUT NO! She wants to see the game I've put so much time in to. SCORE!
So I keep doing what I was doing, kindly explaining all the things I was accomplishing along the way.
Her response: "There is a lot going on here!"
3 hours later: "I think I'm going to start dreaming about you playing Elite"
Heck yeah! I asked her if she really enjoyed her time watching and she genuinely liked it. She made a pretty snappy co-pilot too. Reminding me to boost power to shields when a Cobra was reverse thrusting and firing on me. She got to see a lot of really harrowing moments...being pirated and pummeled down to 5% hull (she got to see the canopy burst, love that)...she saw me taking on a heavily modified Asp that took forever to knock down and offering a huge bounty and she saw me sneak into a station with silent running while Wanted (pretty crazy that one too...a fat lakon was in the letter box and I ended up spinning into the station but intact.
Congrats FDEV, you've made someone who only played The Sims get really into a space flight. If you release an expansion for it, I'm sure she would love to personalize the ship interior...I could do with some flowers
