Update 9 - Unable to Start Reactor at Certain Settlements

Since update 9 [Edit: Originally I sad Update 10 by mistake] , and the unscannable NPC bug, certain settlements are impossible to finish a Settlement Restore mission at. If there is a dead NPC laying at the base of the console, you will not be able to hit "E" to interact to power on the reactor (after putting the regulator in the slot). It always happens at the same settlements and supercruising away and/or logging in out have no effect, as the dead NPC placement must be preset for specific settlements.

I filed the issue with the issue tracker. If you've seen the same problem, please confirm the issue on the issue tracker so that this will get fixed. The two settlements I've always seen this happen at are listed in the issue report. I'm sure other settlements elsewhere of that particular type are also affected.

Yep, but the unscannable bodies thing is already on their known issues list, so I trust that they will attempt to fix it a couple of times over the coming patches.

Update 10? Are you a time traveler?

Who won the 2022 Le Mans?
Crap. I meant update 9 through 9.02. I've been sick since December 1st (stomach flu then sinus infection, not COVID or Flu), I'm surprised this is the only thing I got wrong.

Is there a way to change a thread title after the fact?

not only this, even the old bug of stuttering in certain settlement in conjunction with not to find scavengers is back. i think it was resolved in between the main patches with correction of the navmesh which generated unecessary pathes between the rocks. maybe homeoffice kills the game, assume that effective cooperative working in their team seems to be suffering.
Yeah, the stuttering is back. For me, at the start of a ground CZ and then sometimes during the battle. This was totally gone as of Update 9 for me. Must have been working too well and they had to reign it in.

I had the same problem a couple of days ago.

If you wait a while it could become accurate on its own.
Lol, yeah, it could.

As a sidenote, that is my biggest problem with the new Issue tracker (and also why I made this post): if no one else confirms your report, they just drop the issue and think isn't really an issue. In the case of this bug, it's only affecting a certain type of settlement and only becomes noticeable on Restore missions (which aren't common any more) or the rare "Power up the settlement so you can retrieve the data."

I don't mind reporting bugs and then waiting for them to get fixed. I do mind reporting bugs and them not getting fixed because no one else bothered to report the issue.

Had the same problem myself a couple of days ago... unscannable bodies unable to start reactor... unable to use an e-breach to hack the reactor controls(lack of power)...... but hey.. a free power regulator for me :)

A few months ago I was kindly reassured by a CM that there are people trawling through the issue tracker regardless of status, but I think it's pretty much clear this was an overstatement on their part.

I've also had when restoring power and then having to put out fires, even though disabling all atmospheric systems in each building you can't complete the mission.

I was at a same Settlement three times yeasterday, doing Restore Mission's.
First & third time were fine & mission completed.
Second time, even though I'd definitely inserted the PR & the power was on, doors opened, recharged at points & the Turrets were active, it didn't register with the 'Leave the Settlement' notificiation usually visible in the top right of the screen. Had to abandon the Mission & take the 100k fine.
Looks like the Gremlins are breeding again in the Mission mechanics ;)

After 4 or 5 server errors on the trot when leaving the planet I raised a ticket, I got the usual standard advice to reset the router and check game files etc. anyone else getting 6-7 seconds wait when jumping into normal space at a station or settlement??

Sounds more like you can't get close enough to rub your nose on the console like you need to in order to interact with it because a body is laying directly in front of it.
Yup, I got that today. I then left the PWR building to wait for my friend to land. When we both went back inside, the PR was gone!

My friend had to use his own regulator to help me complete my mission.

Very annoying.
