I was just doing some light bounty hunting in a HazRez last night and I spotted the little Hexagon symbol by my reticule. I'd seen it a few times before and either I've consistently missed it over the thousands of hours I have in game, or it's a new marker of some kind. I can't target it and it doesn't seem to point to anything in particular that I can tell. Has anyone else seen this and/or know what it is? Of note it will change colors to gray and red, but consistently stays the same orange, it's not in the list of contacts nor is it in the system map/ navigation panel.
Anyone seen/know what this is?

I saw it during team mining several days ago. There were three of us and I saw two such symbols on my HUD. Thought they were pointing at my teammates but not really. They pointed at nothing particular, I'd say.

Was that the ship your wingmate was targeting?
Maybe it's the game telling you that you wing mate isn't even looking at the target
It should indicate your wingman's target. As you can see, your wingman ID icon is a hexagon, and the same symbol is displayed on your HUD to show his target. Also, under his name, there is the name of the commander/NPC he is targeting. Once that ship becomes hostile towards him, this symbol should also turn red.
