I imagine someone around here can have a debate with you on the topic, after taking five minutes to read a wikipedia summary page on viral evolution....

Kinda think lego missed out on a pretty big opportunity to expand into non-plastic construction.

the bar isn't very high for being better than these forums. most of powerplay and any player faction organization was done on reddit ... and reddit isn't great either, but still seen as better than here.

Any social media platform is made better by your absence. Discord just happened to be on my mind at that moment in time.

I remember it all kicking off at the BT call centre I worked at years ago when they blocked FB and Bebo (remember that?). Took less than half a day for them to reverse that decision.
Hilariously facebook isn't locked out on ours, but I'd have to be insane to use it whilst logged in from work. Or at any time actually
I suspect facebook chat is blocked though, even though the actual site isn't.That seems to be based on poor data. I'm not on social media platforms (the web2.0+ variety anyway - since forums could be considered a kind of social media)... and they're widely renowned for their roles in eroding society and facilitating various governmental agendas and platforms for misinformation and hate. Even discord has been used to SWAT people among other things.
I'd say the evidence seems to be that since this forum has not been a significant contributing factor to such objectively bad things ...that my presence makes social media platforms better as opposed to my absence.
You're here though, so it's not exactly highbrow...
But the similarities are striking. Social media erodes society and a conversation with you erodes peoples will to live.

if johnny 5 had to acquire input from today's media sources ...that's probably a close proximation to how he would behave from what he's learned about human society.
