Its because the recent wave of writers are in essence children and seem unable to conceptualise actual adults on screen. New Trek exemplifies this- compare old Trek films with new ones and its easy to spot moments of character in old films translated to shouting, crying and childish behaviour in the new.
Its not all bad, the Expanse does a good job of it and Mando / BOBF too has a low Cry / Shout / Whisper (CSW) ratio.

i like it as a pirate language. but i think in reality, creole type dialects just wouldn't happen in such a situation. that dialect isn't a deconstruction of English, and access to schools and such would make it impossible.
would have probably been more realistic to have them speak like in firefly, since it's way more probable that we'd see a merger of languages like that.., but that wouldn't be as piratey. meh

i feel like it's almost like they have a quota to meet of including certain tropes in a given show and that's why it's forced and not natural looking. or like another writer comes in and instead of adding jokes to a sitcom, they add crying introspection to anything not a sitcom.
like some exec that runs the company that makes all these shows inherited their position but really wanted to be an artist or poet and just sucked at it so they think this is how they'll make their mark and improve everything and nobody can tell them it's horrible.
