..........Limpits, yes, 40ish limpits in my hold, unmanned ship left for an hour AFK, where`s the threat it`ll be fine, lol, motherflirkin limpits, had to check with EDDiscovery to be sure, they insisted i release 16k worth of cargo 40 Limpits and one dead ship later they got 400 credits

There has to be a more lucrative way for an Npc to make a living

Never had em attack for limpets. It's possible the collectors grabbed something you hadn't marked for ignore yet and that's what was demanded.
Just log to main menu next time'=)

I’ve been interdicted and chased by NPCs stating “all that tasty cargo” and “the ship with the big load” etc when all I have is collector limpets….

Happens quite frequently. I see the messages pop up about cargo etc and think to myself “have I??” but 9/10 times all I have is limpets. Doesn’t bother me though as it’s all extra credits from the inevitable bounty once I’ve lined ‘em up in my crosshairs!

Sometimes NPC's attack for their own reasons. I've had one turn to me and say something along the lines of "I really should scan your cargo hold but I can't be bothered, so I'll kill you instead".

In any case, the OP went AFK for an entire hour, anything could have happened in that time, and it did.

True, i'd never recommend going AFK unless docked for even a few minutes. Even in deep space, quit to menu, it only takes a second.
