I have released an update for OD Explorer and now bring you version 0.9.7

This version brings you the following updates;
  • Added First Discovered Icon.
  • Added Option to Auto Start Fleet Carrier Timer on FC Jump Request.
  • Added Orbital Rotation and Rotation Period to Body Info popup.
  • Added Colony Range to Biological Data.
  • Moved Fleet Carrier Jump Timer into its own thread and off the main UI thread to improve timer accuracy.
You can get the latest release here - Get OD Explorer here

The Github page can be found here - OD Explorer GitHub

An icon has been added to the body info for first discovered. The telescope icon will be displayed if a scanned body has not been yet been reported by a player.

An option has been added to Autostart the 20-minute fleet carrier jump timer. If enabled, the timer will automatically start when you request your fleet carrier to jump. The timer itself has also been moved into its own thread to improve the accuracy of the countdown.

As per a request, the orbital rotation and rotation period information has been added to the body tool tip infobox.

The colony range of a biological has been added to the Bio Data view which should save you from looking in the codex for that information.

I have released an update for OD Explorer and now bring you version 0.9.6

This version brings you the following updates;
  • The Spansh CSV Parser now has an option to automatically select the next system in the route when you jump to a system that is part of said route.
  • A notable body option has been added where you can now set parameters for a particular body you are looking for and it will be highlighted if found when FSS'ing
  • An option to export scanned biological data as a CSV file which you can load into your spreadsheet software of choice.
I have also fixed a bug that prevented Road to Riches routes from parsing.

You can get the latest release here - Get OD Explorer here

The Github page can be found here - OD Explorer GitHub

CSV Parser Update;

You will now find an option in the settings menu to automatically select the next system on a CSV route. If you jump into a system that is contained within a route, the application will automatically select the next system after that one and auto-copy the system name to the clipboard if you also have that option enabled. This means it can be pretty much unattended and all you will need to do is open your galaxy map, paste in the system name.

Notable Body Update;

In the display options, you will find a section where you can set parameters for notable bodies. I have parsed the data kindly provided by cannon research on Odyssey biologicals and created some presets for this. These parameters may not be perfect and might need some tweaking but they should give you a start if need be. What this will do when enabled is highlight any planet you scan which falls within the parameters set. You can also save and delete custom presets.

Biological Data Updates;

For the biological scan data, I have added the option to export your scanned data in CSV format. I have a couple of friends who love their stats and request this option, hopefully, others find it helpful. Let me know if there is other data that I should have included with this export, please. I have also added the value of the biological to the scan information. This is an example of the CSV data when viewed in a spreadsheet.

o7 Commanders!
I am pleased to bring an update for OD Explorer. I have added a theme manager with which you can select from a few themes I have created as well as creating a custom theme and selecting the colours you prefer.
I have also added a tooltip to scanned bodies that shows detailed information. Just hover your mouse cursor over the body and the tooltip will popup. You can still right-click to open the context menu to open the system on EDSM or copy the system name to the clipboard.

I've also added Atmospheric Composition to the Info column for those looking for the nice Water Atmosphers for the higher paying bio scans. You can of course hide it if you wish in the Display Settings which is where you will find the Theme manager.

I've also updated the Biological Scan Data to update the variant from the composition scanner. For some reason, FDEV does not include the species variation in the Scanned Biological event but do in the codex event. So if when you are in your ship or srv, scan the biological for the codex, the variant will now be added to the data.

Annoyed that your fire groups have gone? :D Why not just equip a DSS and go exploring with the latest release of OD Explorer?

I have added customisation options for the grid display. You can now rearrange and enable/disable and customise the info display. I have also updated the Spansh CSV parser to support the current CSV types and also added a simple 20-minute timer you can use if you are jumping your carrier which will play a system beep when it is complete. I'm still working on themes and colour customisation. I hope to have that done soon.
You can find the release here. Let me know if you find a bug I have missed. Enjoy! o7

I'm assuming that the only csv files that can be imported are csv files from Spansh. Tried to import my own csv file, wouldn't take it.

Also, the program is marking all planets as mapped. Only the first planet is mapped the rest I only scanned with FSS.

The blue row background there means you have mapped the body, AB3 in this case. The flag icon means that the body has not been mapped in-game yet and the red row background colour means that the body has not been discovered.

Sorry, I really need to find time to write some instructions :D

I knew the blue meant that I had mapped it, I had the mapping icon backwards. Did not know about the red coloring.
Thanks.

No worries, it is my bad for not finding the time to write a manual yet.

If you go to Options > Display options, that shows an example and you can also customise the view and colours in there.

Hello WarmedMints,

I've been using OD Explorer and am very pleased with it.
However I noticed that the scanned value for planets are too high?
Here is an example from the scanned values in OD explorer and the values as payed out at cartographics:

OD explorer values:
OD Explorer Bodyscan Values too high 2.JPG

Values when sold at Cartographics:
OD Explorer Bodyscan Values too high 1.JPG

Only body A 6 had the right value?

Also I have great trouble reading the blue line when I have scanned a body.
Is it possible to change this color with the editor?

I'm glad you like it. Unfortunately with the values, it is down to the Terraformable bonus. You don't always get a 100% bonus when you sell and to make matters worse, two accounts can get a different bonus percentage for mapping the same planet so despite a great effort carried out by others on obtaining data, we cannot work out what that bonus seems to be. There seems to be something wonky with the value calculation when you sell in-game. So what I display is the maximum possible value. I could adjust that though and show the min and max I suppose. I'll have a play and see how it looks.

As for the colours though, you can customise them all. If you go to Options > Display Options > Edit Theme > Data grids, you want the Mapped body background and fore ground colours.

(Facepalm) I never saw the tab “data grid”. how blind can you be.

Too bad about the scan values.
up until now i’ve been using EDSM to track my travels and in my experience this tracks the values fairly accurate (Within a 3% margin)
but for sure i will be using your tool on my next tour.

It tends to even out the more you travel and map. I use the same formula as edsm, the only difference is I add the 30% bonus for Odyssey which edsm does not. In my travels, Ive found edsm to under estimate by a large margin.

If you are interested in how is it calculated, there is a great thread here - https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/exploration-value-formulae.232000/ and edsm's code is here - https://github.com/EDSM-NET/Component/blob/master/Body/Value.php

@WarmedMints thank you very much for this amazing project. It's very very helpfull

i would like to suggest few features if you don't mind=)

would be great to see ability to enable "Always on top". Right now i'm getting this with Microsoft's PowerToys, its also possible with AutoHotKey. But having it in app would be nice
and if you will be looking into this, could you also enable opacity configuration. For some reason this i can't do even with AutoHotKey, while for some other apps AutoHotKey can do it.
If it's possible to have transparent mode for app, that would be killer feature. Style of your application already blends very nicely with ED. but having it transparent and on top of ED would achive next level of immersion =)

and let me just say this again, you did great job on this application already. Huge thanks

I've used this for a couple runs now and the higher value does seem pretty accurate on long trips. I think its the stars that mess it up then.

I dont remember ever seeing stars worth that much, but other apps also give them the same value.

Considering the in game numbers never add up right I'd say you've done well with the calculation lol
