Navigation: is this possible?

I want to travel from point whatever to a system 80+ light years away. Is it possible to select the destination in the galactic map and have it give me a list of all the stars I need to jump to to get there? Currently I'm having to go back into the map after every jump and try to work out the next best star to jump to. Needless to say this is a huge PITA. Haven't they heard of TomTom in the future? :D

Once you click the target where you want to go, zoom back to where you are while not unclicking your target destination. In a small bubble around your ship on the galactic map, you will routes to different star system in blue lines, the game determines the best route for you by replacing blue lines with orange ones. The only thing is, you have to memorise the systems you need to jump too as it does not save, and then recheck once you get too the end of your little bubble to re-plot the route. Hope I helped CMDR. You will see what I mean by the little bubble and routes when you look at the galactic map ;)

But I may be wrong, as I've never used it too plot long distances, as I usually see an area I want to get too far away, but explore while heading there, but when plotting courses close to me, as I stated above happens.

Yes (kinda) In the navigation tab in the galaxy map - Select fastest or Economical route. Click on your destination system and it will give you a line displaying all the systems you have to stop at to reach your destination.

Unfortunately no navigation computer exists for this info to be dumped to. My method is to use my ipad to note down the systems enroute, that why I don't have to access the galaxy map after each jump.

Hopefully they will add a planner that uplinks to your cockpit display.

The furthest I can plot a route to is about 50LY from my location, not sure if the limitation is due to my fuel range

I just thought, that would make a brilliant app that FD could release, have a galactic map app that keeps in synch with the game, place it below your screen and keep tabs on where you are going and show you the route. :D Or the Devs could just keep your actual path saved on the map. >_>

That's what I was hoping to avoid (having to jump back into the map or write stuff down). Yes, it would be very helpful if the devs could incorporate the route into a panel in the cockpit. The one between the pilot's knees would be good.

Holy crap, I've just discovered one of my Voice Attack commands (used for scrolling cockpit menus) makes this forum scroll too.

Thanks guys. :)
