Radio silence on when we can actually order a drink at the bar

That InterAstra holoviewer is great now it is interactive.

I prefer to cycle through the holoviewer to see which ships they have for sale, rather than scroll through the menu at the clerk.

(It also gives me something to do for a few minutes if I'm waiting on someone landing)

Unfortunately the issue is closed and marked as FaD, functioning as designed, which is ridiculous!

There is already a total lack of gestural communication between human CMDRs and no emotive capabilities are available neither in the chat box nor as animations. The whole point of Odyssey is to be on your feet... to walk around and interact with other players, also on their feet.

Ultimately, it's not acceptable to go moving around with the single communication possible being a squat.

I really am digging the openness and communication from Frontier and the CMs! It's wonderful and it's doing a great deal to bring us back on-board. But being a space simulation MMO, where now our player characters are represented by human 3D models instead of only starships, some emotive capability is a must.

Completely understand that there are truly more important things to implement now and what will be the focus needed for getting Odyssey out on console. However, at the end of that, and the great domains of Console and PC are once again brought together (woo!) there must be some gestures/emotes implemented as well. Getting a drink at a bar and sitting at the bar might not actually fit for whatever reason in the creator's design for the Elite Universe, but it would make sense, be fun, and be quite satisfying -- things like that bring players together and greatly endear the dev company to them.

As we get closer to the end of the completion of Odyssey we should continue to let Frontier know to not forget the cherries on top! Really, the little things that play gargantuan parts in making the game even the littlest bit more enjoyable and satisfying show that the game's makers (developers and corporate persons alike) love their players and the players will make sure the game is a success.

LLaP my fellow CMDRs!

The awkward squat haunts me. It’s an awkward gesture.

Remember when all those players did a crouch run video around the concourse?

CMs: “We can’t wait to see how you play the game!!”

Community: can’t properly interact so let’s do a crouching video as a cry for help

CMs: “Look at our amazing community!”

FDev CMs needs to stop normalising peoples desperate attempts to physically interact in game as ingenuity.

Rolling guardian balls down a hill gets massive community praise… It’s the only physical interaction you can do other than cycle through the holoviewer at InterAstra (but even that lacks an arm reaching out to use the console)

All those people would be the kind of people that would meet and socialise in the games bar areas, or use multi crew features that were properly implemented.

Instead it’s dribbling guardian balls down a hill and the ministry of squatty walks!

I strongly agree to this! This is a QOL Feature every student in a game development university learns on day 1: How to make the charakter sit on a chair!
It cannot be that hard now can it?!

It might have something to do with the servers keeping track of which chair has someone sitting on it? Thousands of stations, tens of thousands of chairs... As an RPG player I would love to sit down somewhere while I was away from the game!
