how too get rid of wanted level??

As the title suggests Im kinda stuck with a wanted level I want gone(I know do the crime pay the fine...)

But Ive been happily space trucking around for a few hours and finally scraped the dosh togther too grab a cobra mk3.My first sortie with my new gunship and I get a bounty on my head.

Just wondering where and how I can get rid of it.And I promise I'll behave better in the future ;)

Cheers :)

well i guess you have to...... well ....get blown up. :)

I myself am a juicy target got 92 000 on my head in fed space
you must think i am some murderous pirate but ... i just failed to deliver the contract cargo in time so the goods was considered stolen
and the cargo was worth pretty much same amount
I could have just payed the fine
but i was just one minute late. So you can imagine the feeling.

I guess it is interesting exploit i could just switch to cheap ship and get myself caught in it.

You want to go to any station and when in the station menu you'll see a tab marked Contacts. Select that and in there you'll see your Pilots Federation Contact. With them you can pay off your bounty for a premium relative to your current bounty with that faction.

You can dock in any station and use the Pilot Federation office to pay your bounty off (+50% fee).
If your are wanted by the federation, for example, you might want to travel to a different non-federation system first, cause they could attack you on sight if you try to dock in a system you are wanted in. You could also use silent running or dock at an outpost, with less security around.

chers for the fast replies!!

But it just kinda disspeared.I switched onto silent running and got scanned by the pigs on the way in too dock,I was already flapping a bit cause ship was rapidily falling apart. So I just docked at beagle 2 landing with a ruined ship and no money but now I have no bounty.

This cant be right can it??

Sounds weird indeed, dunno how your bounty has disappeared like that! hehe

I was docked so the 'WANTED' message didnt show up on my HUD.And man that was a risky escape, never flew so fast outta a station :D

So Im wanted by the federation. So I check star map and just zoom off too somewhere where Im not wanted and pay of whoever??Cause I have no option to pay anything in the 'pilots federation' where Im docked just says 'pay bounties' 'no criminal record'.

I feel like a right wally asking this probaley really simple for you vets, but for me this game is like nothing Ive ever played.

Cheers!

Hmm, I think your bounty should have been payable in that federation station your were just docked in as well.. dunno.. maybe it's a bug, but I don't get this :D

Ya, you can try in a different system: if there are no feds around there it might be also easier for you to dock/undock ;) like in an independent or alliance system.
If you are close to the starting area, Eranin and Asellus Primus both have their own independent jurisdiction, or you can go to an anarchy system as well.

Got the same problem. 400 bounty on me and I cant pay it off. Pain in the ass to dock in station as if I get scanned I have to jump out/in and dock again sigh... why I cant pay it off :(

Under the current ruleset for bounties of that size you need to wait until the timer runs out (15 minutes, I believe) then you have to hyperspace out and return before docking at a station in the system you gained the bounty in. At this point you can pay the legacy fine off in contacts.

@Dariusz1989
Since 1.3 there has been a few changes.
Fines can be paid off, bounties not now after 1.3.

There is a timer in the transactions windows, and the timer varies on severity, those small 400cr fines usually have a timer of 7 or 8 minutes, once those minutes are up you will clear the bounty off on next hyper-jump.
Murdering an assassination target that doesn't have a bounty is somewhat more serious, so that bounty might last a few days.

Bounties are also now only from the locals, so if you move system you are no longer wanted (well at least from the coppers)

just don't pay it. If anyone wants you to kill them. Thats what I do. Galactic Wide Bounty of about 300k right now and some are actually falling off in a couple of hours. Should bring it down to 150k I think. New bounty system so still testing but I never pay bounties or fines. You learn to live with it.

it's a pretty liberal justice system. You murder someone and are only wanted for around a week. then you can go in and pay the fine.
or you can just ignore the fine and as long as you don't go back it gets forgotten about. All kind of 'Wild West'.
Basically don't do crimes in your own back yard, and live with being hunted by every Tom, & Harry if you do.

It just disappears after a week, my bounty in Alpha Fornacis after fed hunting is 1.8 mil...so I'm kinda staying outta there

I had a lot of cash for my head in one system because I kept taking jobs to "retire old equipment" or something like that, which basically means killing a ship that's "clean"... but I just bought a sidewinder, flew over to that system and presented myself to the nearest hunter- bam, dead, and so was the bounty. I was only out the cost of a sidewinder and insurance. Only problem was that I ran into minor trouble in that same system again, and the bounty is right back up there. :) So I guess it's best just to ignore it and eventually, if you're a good doobie, it'll go away.

Don't just go to nearest hunter, you need to go to the faction that issued the bounty, the station is the best place. I did this lastnight went straight to the station and sat outside so the system authority ships could scan me.
