Update 10 - Odyssey and Horizons

#DONT FORGET YOUR LIMPETS 😂

For me, there's been a marked improvement in performance since Odyssey's launch. For example, where I was getting 20fps standing on a station looking out into the docking area (through the window) I now get a solid 60fps - no changes made my side. That's quite a jump. This is on a GTX 1070 with a 3900x.

Good news!

No framerate changes since release, basically.

I forgot to ask - have you cleared your graphics settings folder recently?

Exit the game and delete the contents of this folder:

%LocalAppData%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Graphics\

This is vital if you played Odyssey in the Alpha stages

It's also important if you're not seeing frame rate increases with each update.

Yes, doesnt do anything

i7 4790k
1070ti
16gb ram
1080p, 144hz

Medium/high mix. Turning the settings down doesn't do a whole lot of anything

That should be 60 fps easy in station concourses - 50+ at minimum.

Just make sure Environment and Special FX are both medium.

Try the erase graphics settings I mentioned in my next reply if you haven't done so.

I can PM you a link to my Odyssey settings if you like. (I run it on a 1660ti and a 970, and have settings for each)

Sure it's not 🔥 🧑‍🚒 👩‍🚒 ?

Well the source code for Call To Power II was over a million lines of code (that we were able to persuade the owners to 'give' to the modding community) and it had to be "un-commented" before it was allowed in public view (due to some erm 'colourful' description in the comments!) and the modders could get their hands on it. At that size of code base (and we are talking a 90's era TBS game here, i have no idea how large the codebase for ED is!) it was VERY hard to manage due to the scale of it. And yes you will create your own fires you then need to put out at some point, it's hard getting it 100% right.

Anyone having problem plotting a route after boosting from a neutron star? I can't get the map to plot the longer jumps even with the proper options selected.

Here is a photo showing the options correct to my knowledge but I should be able to jump 222 not 50...

Not much of an "update" seems more like a hotfix to address the issues brought by previous "updates". Guess the "perfomance" is as good as it gets now as in it didn't really change (judging by fps in conflict zones not just standing around starting at glass) so not so great news for those waiting on consoles. I hope that next "update" will not break things at least.
Props on fixing some things, keep it on.
