Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Hotfix 10.01 | 01/02/2022

Yes, Update 9: the Scorpion was launched with 2 tons of cargo space and the Scarab was retconned to 4 tons of cargo space.

I find it nice for those random crash sites on bodies. You know, the ones with 4 occupied escape pods AND multiple
cargo canisters. Only half as many trips back to the ship now.
And even Guardian sites are suddenly more appealing!

  • This one will be of interest to Commanders who are currently struggling to progress through the main menu before encountering a crash.
The problem is still there. The game crashes from main menu in 3-4 seconds. Once I hurried to push "continue playing" from main menu - but then the game crushed while the ship was spinning. That's crazy. Why me?)

Personally I'm disappointed, we had a hotfix today and this thread is only at page 7 by now :(

There's just not the effort anymore is there Jack? I think it's a terrible reflection of the state of things now, and rapidly needs intervention by Brebus, as it cannot simply go on.

The forum toddlers must learn to shout louder about unrelated things, and make more outrageous claims, for it to be taken seriously by people who come here to laugh at them, whilst finding out news.

FD put so much work into these updates and fixes, and only seven pages in 6 hours?

I give them a 2 out of 10. Must try harder.

For many? I know the forum is not representative for the community as a whole, but that's definitely not the impression I've been getting over the past half year. The only people I've seen on here who are less than worried about performance, are the power users who are just brute forcing their way through with top of the line CPUs and GPUs. I'm fairly close to the recommended specifications myself and I'm still averaging <60 FPS anywhere else than supercruise.

Also, where to submit said performance reports? Or are these collected automatically?
I'm running a 1080ti, I7-9800 - ultra widescreen. Do I qualify as a 'power user'? I've seen much improvement to FPS over the past several months.

Indeed old chap! And FDev must try harder to break our toys, otherwise we risk no laughable material on the forums at all! Imagine the horror..!

Not a single Open Letter, no hazzable stuphz due to rage quit, and I've hardly spotted any TTEs...

Perfect, just as I was running out of alternative stuff to do! Back to finding selenium...

(Although I'd be fascinated to see a summary of how the SRV got broken when nothing in the previous patchnotes affected it 😹 )

Upgrading to an RTX 3090 did not improve frame rate over my GTX-1080 Ti. The new PC was my best space heater though, so there's that.

Tested SRV on larceny type of mission and materials scooping worked smoothly. I also saw some items positioning corrections which also look good. Game overally performs now very well for me on my PC. Thx 2Sally and team!

Greetings Commanders.

Hope you're having a good Tuesday so far. Ok! Let's get ready!

Forgive me for the 'Short Sweetness' of these notes today, Commanders!
I'll do my best to address further comments and conversations in the thread, however there's been quite a lot going on the past 24 hours to let's get cracking and see how we go o7

Elite Dangerous: Odyssey Commanders will today recieve a Hotfix to address a number of key mechanic and stability issues, arisen since Update 10.

Odyssey only servers will be offline from 12:00pm UTC with minimal downtime required.

The hotfix will be available at approximately 12:30pm UTC or earlier (I'll keep in touch here!)*

*MUCH earlier! It's available NOW (12:02)

Updates of note:
  • A fix has been implemented for the HUD failing to update when the SRV would collect cargo.
    • This is where you would need to relog to continue to make further collections.
  • A fix has been implemented for the SRV only being able to pick up one item at a time when transporting cargo.
  • A fix has been implemented for deceased NPC bodies blocking reactor consoles at some settlements.
  • A stability fix has been implemented.
    • This one will be of interest to Commanders who are currently struggling to progress through the main menu before encountering a crash.

Thank you again for the continued conversation here in the Forum, especially following yesterday's investigation into server stability.

See you as we go with today's Hotfix journey! o7
Fix of this would be nice.
