Regulations state "Thruster's only in space dock"

I've become so comfortable with docking and departing that I've got in to a habit of pulling up my tail and hitting the boost  whilst still inside the station, usually overtaking a number of ships either incoming or leaving in open play.

It's a rush and haven't come a cropper yet. I've only once or twice scraped the shield of another ship. Sorry about that.

I do this as well. Had a few close calls with Lakon 9's and Anacondas but I make sure to check the Radar before boosting now. :)

I have come a cropper 3 or 4 times at the station entrance/exit, I tried to roll sideways past a T9 and one side of the ship clipped the roof and I spun but survive, another I clipped T6 and got spun again but ended up stuck in the cage thing at the entrance to some stations, watching the loitering warning tick down as I struggled to free myself got the heart racing, Another I clipped a drop ship and we got stuck together in some weird ball of shield plasma, luckily I escaped all without so much as a scratch on my tricked out Cobra.

I did pause for a sec to see if anyone had seen what happened :) you don't want that to be seen by another pilot.

To throw something else into the pot - I play in open; no weapons; no shield generator; fly with a wanted sign on my head; max pips to engines and always boost out of stations.

Why - Ironman is not here yet and we're immortal :D

Boosting out of the station should be mandatory.
It is for me, even if I have, on occasion smashed into the wall like a berk.
LOL

I get freezes sometimes (2-5 seconds) so I learned the hard way not to do this.
Closest encounter I had (excluding putting a crater in the wall) was in my Eagle. On the way in I flew beneath an Anaconda as it entered the station, grazing the shields. Guess the helmsman spilled his coffe or something because next thing it boosted into a exiting Type-9 starting a clusterF firefight inside the station.
Within 20 seconds they were both dust and the authority ships were fighting each other (bad day at work?). Went into the hangar as soon as I touched down ^^

When I tab out to call my friend "FRAPS is not responding..."

That rule always puzzled me. If we don't use thrusters, how exactly would we be moving? FSD? Getting out and pushing? The booster is part of the thruster module so this isn't really all that clear! :S

*sigh* I was quoting from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, when Kirk orders his new helmsman to engage impulse engines whilst still in Space Dock.

After a Pregnant Pause, she complies, with the reveal that "I've always wanted to do that."

Boosting out of Space Dock is a rush... because it is dangerous. I'd love to see how it looks though from another perspective.

Mmh I like it to especially if if you are on the last PAD .... start with R --- Correct get the mIddle ---- Retract Landing gear -- and ACC.+ Afterburner .... but I understand maybe it shut be fined .... but for that I will allways pay...;)

must admit I love giving the type 6 the beans as soon as I leave the pad. I have become quite adept at coming out of the entrance/exit at an rolled angle to miss the type 9's coming the other way.

Me too. I've also boosted in which is a bit adrenaline fuelled (and has gone wrong once or twice). :)

My worst cropper was when my pad was right at the back of a station and I launched straight up and crashed into the stupid spike in the middle just as I boosted.

i always did love seeing a sidewinder or eagle trying to beat me through the mail slot when i was flying a type-9... the evil in me made me boost that behemoth ... nothing was as rewarding as stopping at the next station and requesting that the ship attendant scrape off the bits and pieces from the front of my ship.:D

Worst boost failure ever.

Boosted out of the dock, failed to notice the NPC bottom on to me tangled in the guide arms just outside the entrance....

Crunch.

One Type-6 destroyed along with all full cargo of superconductors :( I'm now down to 1000Cr.
