So it really seems that people are dropping cash to support not the PU, but the development of Chris Robert's vanity project. Not that I can complain about others funding the game I actually want to play, but I have to say that between SQ42 and the complete disappearance from the public view, it looks as if he feels offended by the fan base :rolleyes:

They are building metatooling - the tooling used to build other tools. What do you not understand?

If I were an old, grumpy person with a pretty good manure detector and some software development experience, I would think that at some point all the updates were weaponized by marketing to obfuscate, shift blame and gaslight, while convincing the audience that a) there is progress on many fronts, including advanced R&D, b) CIG are transparent like no other game development company.

Fortunately I am young, attractive and naive, and think they are just doing their best to communicate openly.

So they buy* tool to make tools that will make pipelines that will - tentatively - make a game from Chris' brainfarts for them.

Also, Magic Germans are now known as Mighty Québécois.

*2000+$ annual plan. Also interesting to note that Houdini plugin for UE and Unity are available.

It will be interesting to see how this news affects funding.

Nothing too unusual at the moment to see. There's been a drop over the last 6 hours but that's normal for this time of day. It usually is at peak when US is awake.

It does make an interesting read .... CIG will probably just delete all the posts, close all the threads, dust off Chris, roll him out in front of the masses and get him to spout some words. Then all will be right with the citizens again. That being said, with the general sentiment as it seems to be at the moment, I am not sure citizens would lap it up like they have in the past.

I really do hope they are actually concentrating on SQ42 but I doubt they are. There should be more to show for half a billion dollars and 10 years of "effort", even if that is split between the two projects, after all they are meant to share a common core .

Just remember the funds tracker is not an independent 3rd party tool or a publicly audited view. It is whatever CIG wants us to see.
