No, I already own it, backed it years ago. Was just wondering if it was worth jumping back in again, the downloading and setup is... time consuming, and last time I did it ended up just getting frustrated after an hour, seeking help on the RSI forums, and was told... er, where to go and what to do with myself.
Just wondering if its in a better state now, and not really getting the impression it is!
From the outside my impression of the noob experience is still this:

As vape says though this is supposedly the most stable build they've had in a while in terms of server crashes. The only real new perennial bugs are stuff like ships exploding when you run down a ramp. (Although plenty of other old perennial bugs exist, like death from running near things, death from your helmet unequipping itself, death from killing yourself because your ship suddenly got re-stored at a station while you were mid-travel leaving you stranded. Stuff like that.)
The meat of what they've added in the last year is often bizarre frustration fodder, like looting. (Whereby you lose any shop bought stuff on death, unless you get back to your corpse. On the understanding that your corpse hasn't turned into an unlootable headless t-posing nude. True story.). But you know, there's a gas cloud planet and other new things. (Performance at the gas cloud planet is apparently abysmal, and there's nothing to do there. But hey, it does look pretty pretty

)
If you hit an annoyance wall within an hour last time I'm gonna guess it's not yet un-alpha-y enough. But you might as well watch some Twitch streams or something and see if the live game looks worth the effort ¯\(ツ)/¯
(PS in my personal estimation as an avid SC watcher, they are probably going to futz up the stability side when they get around to their server update this year. Just FYI

)
