Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

However...I don't have an agenda to promote or decry SC nor do I tailor my posts to suit the particular viewpoint of whoever happens to read whatever they wish into them, in or out of context... I just tell it like it is.

Same here!

And no @sovapid - i'm not paying for the monitor you just destroyed spraying your coffee all over it! :D

I have, Over and over again...

It was a good post, and you point out your reasons for giving money. You don't note (unless my reading has failed) that many of them won't actually be entitled to play it due to their pledge not covering it.

Most backers don't give two hoots about Roberts' vanity project...perhaps there was some interest in the beginning but it's been vapourware for so long it's become entirely irrelevant. There are many recent backers who have no idea what Sqn 42 even is...and some older backers who have just plain forgotten or have ceased to care very much. The only reason I have a Sqn 42 digital download is that it was included as part of a concierge ship package, I didn't pay extra to have it added.

From the beginning of my history with SC, I've never included Sqn 42 willingly with any ship or game package I've paid for. It used to be an optional inclusion for a few bucks extra with any game package purchase early on (2015/2016), it's only recently that it's been shoved in with concierge game packages...whether we want it or not...which smacks of a marketing tactic to falsify prospective or actual sales interest in Roberts' fantasy to investors in the first place. Now we're all being told we're being forced to pay for it's exclusive development, like it or lump it.

Whatever one think of SQ404 is irrelevant. The facts are:
  • It's been (pre)sold
  • They paid AAA cast with backers' money
  • They paid Imaginarium services with backers' money
  • They brag(ged) about this cast
  • They brag(ged) about how this will ashame competition
  • They brag(ged) many times about how it was close to completion
  • They use it regularly as excuse for SC's glacial progress
  • They sold share of the company so they can have money precisely for SQ42 marketing
  • Chris Almighty is relocating himself and his family to finish the game

So, they basically HAVE to release it. Both so they fulfill their engagment and prove they can release something. Else how on Earth can they convince people they're able to make the far more complex project SC is if they can't achieve a "simple" solo game?!? And else they'll be considered laughing stock worldwide (they are already for many).

That and make an inventory UI that doesn't yeet your character into the sky ;)

Yeah, that always makes me laugh. You'd think with their janky physics they'd go the safe route and just have the objects apply to the body, rather than make the body move.

But i guess someone (Chris probably) said he wanted to see some sort of movement when objects were added, and this is the result.
