GALNET - 11 FEB 3308 - New Thargoid Assaults in Three Systems

Makes me wonder if there's any hidden salvation CGs again, wonder if FDev mess up the way they did and drop me another God Cannon from " Salvation" XDDD

Still not clear if “retaliation” is even a concept Thargoids could grasp. They fight, but seemingly in a very structured, managed way, and sometimes ignore potential threats completely if conflict is not in line with their goals.

From this perspective, war would be just a thing that happens when you take resources sometimes, with no emotion, loss or narrative attached to it; it’s just a thing that happens. There would then be evolved, escalating responses until either the barrier to expansion goes away, or you are extinct.

Maybe from the Thargoid perspective there’s no point communicating with the fleshy things that sometimes inhabit / float around near the resource-fuel; they’re just things that get in the way sometimes. Sometimes there is gauss; we send a hydra, then there is wreckage. Sometimes the hydra doesn’t work; then we send more hydras. If that doesn’t work, we send our actual warships / “resource-gathering-problem resolution units” … :)

Mii wantz!! Modded Corvette with a central class 5 rail gauss with 30s warm-up time and single shot...
Then the ship would be inoperable for 5min to recover from blasting whatever bug was in the system!

Hmmm-three systems cleansed by Salvation, three more Tharged.....whats Salvation going to do now?
That's why you only poke wasp's nests with a flame thrower.
That would explain the hundreds of flaming wasps trying to escape and, upon landing on someone's house, setting it on fire. That was the idea, right? if not...

Charles Darwin likes this.👍
The sad part is- why in the centre of the pool? Have it to one side, look dangerous / cook the sausages without the AC via the nads issues because of that extension.

I do think I'm alive because I was a rutting stag with a brain so I could show off, eat tasty food and not electrocute myself.

...sorry....Thargoids. Salvation needs to set one of his Guardian weapons near an ammonia world.

I think we had already established that Salvation is in fact ALD, who is the Winking Cat.

Originally, it was also thought to be Theta Seven, but now there is enough evidence showing that Theta Seven was Arf.
Theta Seven pulls off the mask and is Archon all along, and Aisling is Mahon who is Sirius who is really Zemina who is really Marco.

looks at medicine bottle

I think I took too many doctor

It'll be an interesting opportunity to find out a bit more about how their superweapon actually works - they assembled three of them aboard the megaships hanging around the Pleiades, so for some ways the weapon works they could just jump those ships into the systems and open fire.

If on the other hand what pilots were bringing to the fight was mainly consumables and they now need restocking ... well, Brewer Corp and the Colonia Council have booked up all the bulk haulers for the next four weeks ... and it puts a definite practical bar on being able to fend off Thargoids with it if it needs that much reloading each time.

My take on it is that it could be The Witch trying to bait Salvation into committing all his megaships to respond to this.

Remains to be seen if this spreads or is limited like Cornsar was, nothing on the early detection system either?

Convince me that I'm wrong...
There are Thargoids in the system. Furthermore, in the first wave of Thargoid attacks under Aegis, you could go to the Thargoid surface sites and activate the Thargoid Device, giving data you could use with a Thargoid Link to identity the target. Also there are eyewitnesses in-lore.

This was however something I theorized specifically when Palin's base came under attack, as the other stations did not display corrosive damage. Turned out to be a bug.

They don't need to fake attacks when they can cause the real thing. Those Thargoid Links pointed at human transmitters that had been deployed outside the station.
