The rescue missions were in December but we have had various stations burning on and off, contrary to the usual pattern, so Onoros could have started burning again at any time during the Incursion state. But you're right, it's not that any more with the system completely out of Incursion and the station fully repaired.

An NPC faction, The Imperial Exemplars, is the controlling one, however, clearly the Alliance Expeditionary Pact has been pushing back because both factions are at the same level of Influence, 36.9%. That should trigger a war to become controlling faction tomorrow if it still works like that.

Both factions are described on INARA as being NPC but "player related", which implies players on both sides making this happen.

Onoros along with the other stations stopped burning the Thursday Salvation's superweapons went off.
Repaired about a week later.
I'm aware. The likely answer to your question about what is happening now is player action, not direct but supporting the NPC factions in Onoros. By rights they should be at war tomorrow. The Alliance Expeditionary Pact can become controlling faction but it cannot eject any of the 3 Empire factions there as they are native to Onoros.

Perhaps I misunderstood your question then. You were asking if anyone had heard from player groups there, with the Alliance clearly pushing for a takeover of Onoros, but then you tied it in to clearing Incursions. Not getting why you're connecting those or what significance you attach to it so I just pointed out that they often get cleared fast by people grinding rank due to the Imp and Fed presence. Beyond that I don't think there is anything special about those systems. The only reason why Fed and Imps aren't completely gone is because they are native factions so they can only be suppressed, not evicted.

You also described the Alliance push into Witch Head as recent, but really the Alliance supporting factions have been slowly taking over everywhere in WH since WH was established. This seems more like a continuation of the last couple of years as opposed to something new.

In any case it seems the Alliance factions are just more determined to control all of WH than anyone else. I don't think there's any special reason beyond that, unless you know different.

I think you have the wrong end of the stick. The Imps are looking to expand out of Onoros.
Feds are waaay behind the curve.
Alliance... Are not active.
They may have been once but more.
The Witch Head is up for grabs.

New Thargoid Assaults in Three Systems

Pilots’ Federation ALERT
The HIP 12314, Dan and Nauni systems have come under heavy attack by Thargoid vessels.
Vox Galactica featured this report by freelance war correspondent Jade Sanderlyn:
“The Thargoids have been unusually aggressive in recent months, as attested by the drifting wreckages of many independent ships. When Salvation repelled their forces from the Delphi, Maia and Merope systems in December, some believed it was only a matter of time before the aliens retaliated. It appears that time has come.”
“Although the Thargoid species is often viewed as territorial, on this occasion they have pushed further towards human space. Authorities in all three systems were unprepared for the incursions and have sent out a general call for assistance.”
“The superpowers are still in the process of forming their anti-xeno taskforces, and thus unable to help. Fortunately, despite Aegis being officially defunct, some of its support megaships have yet to be decommissioned. These have been staffed with emergency crews and rushed into service in all three systems.”
“As pilots race into combat once more, many must be wondering if the risks are now even greater. Have the Thargoids extended their reach into human space? Which systems might they strike at next? And is further escalation a price to be paid every time Salvation’s superweapon is deployed?”

Interesting. If Alliance supporters are being lax right now, which they do seem to be, and that gives others a chance to redress the balance of powers down there, what you have observed may indeed be a concerted effort to do that. There have been brief waves of pushback before that haven't changed the overall situation much so I guess we'll see if this one lasts beyond a war or two. Good spot and worth keeping an eye on.

Hmm - Darkwater Inc minor faction added to the Summerland system and in war with the controlling faction with no assets at stake.
Weird choice of government type, though, and not for the first time - after adding Delaine's Kumo Council as Feudal rather than Anarchy, they've now added what appears in lore to be a fairly established mercenary company (Corporate or Dictatorship, depending on how you want to play it) as an Anarchy faction.
