So all the white knights saying it was always the plan are quoting text that has been changed from the original? But someone was smart and checked the wayback machine for the original text?
No, the text says the discount will preserve when bought back. It doesn't say that buyback will be guaranteed.

What is a buyback anyway? All that CCU smelting and stuff. You buy something and then you send it back to store in exchange for other item? Do I get that right? Can't say I ever participated in such nannygans.
I buy stuff. I don't like it - I refund it. Else I keep it. "CCU chain" my rear.

Nothing has changed. Well, maybe the warbond ccu, i have never bought one of those and then melted it. CCU prices have always gone up in buy back if the ship went up in price. Warbond ones might have done that all along, which would be my guess.

Hull C just went up $350

Hull C from years ago in my buy back:

It seems there’s a cutoff in 2018 at the moment:

Maybe they’re still working through the backlog manually ;)

From the comments, /r/sc complaining about moderation on Spectrum.

Good post, maybe it should be duplicated on the Spectrum?

Fact checking isn't allowed on spectrum, I've been banned by Synthwave for reminding people a couple of time that the "very conservative 2019 roadmap" hasn't been delivered yet (more than 2 years late).
Remember the "what we put on the roadmap is what we are very confident we can deliver during the year".

I almost posted this on Spectrum. The actual writer of this post might post a cleaned up version on Spectrum, we'll see. But he gave it to me as a vent in chat and feared posting it himself because of the potential unjust ban / white knight brigading, which is understandable.

You could literally quote CIG and probably get banned.

I once posted screenshots of the sales page of the Cutlass Red where they pushed HARD that it was a ship for reviving anyone anywhere after the nerf which prevented this. Boom, 7 day ban.

I have literally quoted them and gotten suspensions.

Why focusing on the drama and all the negative stuff? Why not being positive about stuff instead of complaining about every single thing that happens?
And most importantly: why the hell did you create this post? Like, what purpose does it serve other than to remind people about useless and unimportant drama that happened?
And most of that drama comes from a very very small vocal minority that likes to about everything and will never be satisfied. You don't believe me? Look at the funding numbers.
