Newcomer / Intro Exploration - scanning with Comp Scanner or Artemis Scanner - what's the difference..?

When I'm scanning organics I can scan with:

A. the COMP SCANNER (whether in the ship, SRV or fighter) and sometimes get a Codex entry; or
B. the Artemis suit scanner, if I disembark and scan 3 samples

What difference does it make.....?

The Artemis scanner is for collecting data for Vista Genomics. The other scans are for Universal Carto.

So, does this mean that I can 'double up' by doing both...?
Also, if I 'triple scan' an organic using the Artemis scanner, does it get an entry in the Codex...?

You can scan a plant using the ship or SRV or by using the Bio Sampler and that will pay out at Universal Cartographics once it will also add a confirmation to the Codex the first time you encounter that type of plant in that sector. No doubling or tripling up.

You see a flash message each time you get a new codex entry.
