Pretty good tracker by some cat in the Enemy Contact org

Holy crap, did you see those estimated man-days?

We'll see the game published by 2077 - book it!

... or M$ will buy out CIG and publish a more realistic version next year. :D

You gotta break from the cult man. Have you ever seen metal heads believe in the devil because that's what they do? By logic it turns out they're actually acknowledging the validity of the other one because its fiction made by fiction..

Hating star citizen means you take it seriously enough to be worth hating, or even thinking about.

Sorry i know the analogy is a bit 90's but im guessing we're oldish here.

By all evidence, star citizen is a very strange and weird occurrence. Very creepy stuff.

Thankfully i don't hate Star Citizen. ;)

I dislike CIGs marketing practices and their lies, which i think most people can get behind. People call out EA and Ubisoft and Rockstar. They call out Nestle. They call out other companies. CIG doesn't get a free pass.

And, taking the mickey out of CIG/SC is a whole lot of fun.

lol name one game forum where they use an independent 3rd party to review things.

when people complained about your moderation, who investigated it?
Dude, you aren't supposed to review yourself. No one has called for a "independant 3rd party". Stop being obtuse. His colleagues are supposed to do it.

Sosometimes I fear the nollocks dries people's braincells out.

Yeah, the man day requirements are quite scary, even if you factor in there will be multiple people working on various tasks.

Take Pyro space stations. Let's assume there are 10 people working on those and efforts are distributed equally (they won't be, but for simplicity's sake), so 874 man days, or 2-3 years!

However, from the second part we see that its not in the top 15 in terms of number of assigned people, so its at best 9 people working on them. Perhaps less!

People thinking CIG are sitting on a complete Pyro, just waiting for server meshing to be released, are out of their gourd!

Anyway, stop being such a roadmap watcher! You've probably just delayed SC by another 5 years!

Why would he lie? What would he get from that?
The same thing that Chris Roberts got when he lied about the state of the game's development in 2012 during the Kickstarter: unsuspecting space game enthusiasts to fund this project.

The same thing that Chris Roberts got when he showed off what turned out to be a machinima video of a sandworm at CitizenCON 2016, as if it was live gameplay: unsuspecting space game enthusiasts to fund this project.

Chris Roberts and CIG have a long and checkered past of receiving funding via crowdsourcing through outright deception, one that has continued to this day. I'm sure that in five years, the Pyro video from CitizenCON 2021 will turn out to be yet another machinima video, there to hype up the game so that people will fund it. All the while, the Roberts clan, via their utterly unethical but sadly legal Hollywood Accounting scheme, will continue to plunder this project to the tune of millions of dollars each year, enriching themselves without ever actually giving their backers the games and assets they paid for.

Oh look at the little side project that is ToW, whose implementation will take like no time off the rest of the game.

Then again - just some list with numbers pulled from some rear - in the best tradition of Star Citisnt.

But it was live gameplay? Never in that presentation did he say "Oh yeah guys this is coming in patch 4.x".

Hahaha. We'll see about that in about 10 months, give or take. Can't wait until one of the 700 employees whistleblows the blatant deletion of hard work! Surely they'd get angry if the star system they worked on for years would just be deleted? Surely someone must come out in public and spill the scam that is going on!

I paid for an Aurora! I got an Aurora! Simple! Whales paid for a picture, they got their picture!

Close - you got access to an Aurora, for now.

We've no guarantee that access will remain once the game goes live - and if we've learned anything from Spectrum over the past 30 days, without the word "promise" included, much of what CIG posts or asserts is just hot air. :)

Oh, good catch on ToW... especially as it lists 10 people on ToW - Misc Support.

How can it have Misc Support when there isn't a product? Or is this CIG people supporting FireSprite? Are FireSprite still working on ToW? Are these 10 people from FireSprite?

It surely is difficult to understand this most transparent company ever!!!

But look, 2+ years for this Misc Support of ToW??? Wow.

As you say, interesting to note for this little side project we were assured wouldn't take much time and resources.

Playing more than one game.
Veery tankerous!
Ah...common misconception that ED players don't play SC or vice versa. Both have always had a fair bit of cross pollination over the years outside of the 'one ring to rule them all' fanatics.

My hours in both are about even by now, used to be 60-40% ED-SC for many years (pre Odyssey)...I play a lot less ED/O now than I used to, playing SC has also tailed off to almost zero since the end of last year. Roughly guessing...since I can't gauge total hours spent playing SC reliably...It's around 5,000 hours on each. Sad, I know.

Personally, I like ED for being ED, it needs nothing more said about it than that. SC has it's own charms here and there outside of all the drama...but as ever, it takes a lot more patience and perseverance, not to mention some desperate optimism, to find anything truly positive to say about it's gameplay or dire development... It's fun with some other folks just messing about but not near enough core gameplay to play on your own... all of this outside of the show stopping physics bugs and networking nonsense that continue to plague it :)

Yes, you've had access, but you've no guarantee that access will persist to final release - since you don't actually own that Aurora.
They are defnitely going to revoke everyone's purchases and run with the money, the best time to do this was 2015, the second best time is now.

As for hot air published by CIG, I've not sufficient time for such a novel right now.
You've hit on a point of contention with Ci¬G that has always been at the back of my mind. None of us have guaranteed access to any of the ships we've pledged for come the now mythical point of release. All we've been told since the beginning is that our financial pledges have been made to support the development of Star Citizen...of course, all of that turned out to be bollox anyway since we've been funding the development of a corporate online marketing venture rather than the development of a space game ;)
