Question about weapons listing order in fire-groups tab

Hello.

I have three 1E Beam Lasers on my Challenger - 2 are engineered for Long Range, and 1 is Overcharged.

I want the two long-range beams in a separate fire-group, so I can obviously fire them at a distant target without depleting the distributor by firing all the other lasers as well.

But the problem is, that in the fire-groups tab the three 1E lasers are listed but there is no way of identifying which are the Long Range ones, and which is the Overcharged one.

What determines the order they are listed in the fire-groups tab? Is there a way I can work out which one is which?

It would make sense for them to be listed in the fire-groups tab in the same order that they appear in the modules tab, but can anyone confirm or deny this?

What I would do is place the “odd” laser center of hull, and the 2 “like” lasers to either side. Then set up a fire group for each one separately. You should be able to tell right away which is which and then group them as you see fit.

Now… having said that. 3 small lasers shouldn’t delete the distributor of the challenger at all when fired together. I run 3 on mine with multi cannon on the rest of the hard points. Lasers to drop shields, multi cannon for hull.

Hi. I am running 4 beam lasers on this build atm, it does deplete quickly and I might have to tweak things, as you can see in the image I posted.

Thanks for the tip on positioning. Bit of a faff, but at least I can work out which is which!

So, thanks to Cmdr Kellett781's tip, I have discovered that on the Challenger, the two hardpoints on the centre-line of the ship are listed first, so in the image I posted the first two beam lasers are the ones on the centre-line, and the last 2 (1E) beam lasers are the ones mounted to port and starboard.

Oh ok, I thought you just had 3 smalls. I use this build on a crusader
