Amazon Animal Pack

I got vibes we will get more animals from south america. Along with Oceania (Australia and Island around) needs more love.
Here are some animals I wanna see in the game from the amazon rainforest and near areas that could fit and reusing current animal rigs we have now.
  • Giant Armadillo. (This could require a new rig and animations, also its the biggest armadillo alive now.)
  • Coati (It could use lemur rigs)
  • Collared Peccary (Since pigs and tapir uses a folder named peccaries and similar animations why not these fellas to appear in the game)
  • Rhea (Ostrich/Cassowary rig)
  • Maned Wolf (I saw this as a highly request animal and it could use the dog rig animations)
  • Capybara (We know this guy is in files but we dont know the fate)
  • Patagonian Mara (Another giant rodent, why not?)
  • Plumed Basilisk for Terrarium

This has been brought up before but this would be an inaccurate name; four of the animals on this list don't even live in the Amazon (rhea, maned wolf, mara, basilisk). If you don't want to strictly limit to Amazon species, a different name would be in order.

If PZ gets a peccary I'd prefer the Chacoan peccary, which is endangered and has a very active captive breeding program. Not an Amazon animal either, though.

If we get a SA animal pack my picks would be:

1. Maned Wolf
2. Howler monkey
3. Capybara
4. Sloth
5. Greater rhea
6. Black or spectacled caiman
7. Ocelot
8. Emerald tree boa (or green anaconda although i would love for it to be an exhibit animal considering it's size)

Other possible options i would be ok with are the scarlet ibis, spectacled bear, brazilian tapir, giant armadillo, coati and patagonian mara. I would love coendu, tamandua and small primates such as the golden lion tamarin as well.

I don't think we are getting an amazon pack since to be an acurate representation of the amazon rainforest it would need to have flying birds (toucans, macaws, hummingbirds, harpy eagle) and fully aquatic animals (arapaima, piranha, manatee, dolphin)

I mentioned in the description areas around amazon, not fully amazon, but it would be neat to have more south american animals. And yeah I saw plumed basilisk is from central america, maybe I confused with other basilisk species in amazon.

If I was going for a specifically Amazon list, I'd go for:

1) Capybara
2) Giant Armadillo
3) Ocelot
4) Coati sp
5) Peccary sp
6) Three-toed Sloth
7) Black Howler Monkey
8) Amazonian Manatee

Enhibit: Leafcutter Ants with a slightly novel model - you just buy queens

1. Capybara
2. Maned Wolf
3. Howler monkey
4. Coati
5. Sloth
6. Peccary
7. Giant Armadillo
Some of those animals don't really fit in an Amazon pack is the issue. I think they might just have to do a South American Animals pack in order to get everything that people want

You are being really strict about it and I respect that. But as I listen to the players and I talk to them I come to conclusion that the most of the game users don’t care if the maned wolf if found in the Amazon basin or at the other side of the river 🤷🏽
It may be important for us but most people just don’t care about those specifics - and frankly Frontier too.

I kind of disagree. I mean the South American animal pack would be a good example of that, seeing as 2 of the animals are more common in Central America than South America. But I also attribute that to negligent research because we're pretty sure they were under the false impression that Central America is part of South America. If you're going to put a maned wolf in an Amazonia pack, you may as well throw a Humboldt penguin in there too.

Regions have meanings. Throwing their meanings out the window for the sake of having a catchy name just confuses consumers. As unlikely as an "Amazonia Pack" is, its meaning still has to be respected.
