Sorry - being a muppet! I do own Horizons, but not Oddy. However, I already owned Horizons and had been playing it very successfully for ages. If I had money, I'd just throw that at the problem!
Game now unusable - are my PC specs/graphics still good enough?! :-(

Thx for all the replies. But i am not playing oddisey. I am playing horizons. I did not buy oddissey because i know that the specs are not ok. But it seems they updated all the rest now also with the same specs. A pitty for those around that did not need the oddisey part but cannot play the horizons part anymore.

Reset your graphic settings, check display settings in-game or reinstall as last resort. Nothing changed much in Horizons, you should easily be able to play it.

I found the solution. It has nothing to do with my hardware at all.
After a while i decided to remove all programs that where installed on my pc and that i did not need anymore.
I am not sure yet but I think that the latest citrix receiver app was the culprit.
When you install this version they ask you to install an extra security measure for evading keyloggers. The first time i did install this part.
AFter removing everything my elite dangerous worked as a charm (i had also a similar issue with far cry primal, it worked also again)
So I started reinstalling the citrix client (needed for my work) and i did not install the extra functionality.
Everything still works. So I am not 100% for sure but i think it hooked somewhere low level so elite started having issues.
I hope this could help some other people using citrix. (I did not retest it again by installing it with that extra activated so not 100% sure) But issue was some software that is sure.
