Update 11 - Finishing Touches (Are you sitting comfortably?)

Since we're on the topic of FCs, can we please please get a moving hologram of the FC when we target it during supercruise?

I want it to move like how stations do so I can exit supercruise facing the docking pads, not the underside.

I still haven't worked out why rotating my ship also rotates the targeted ship in the hologram. They're still facing me at the same angle no matter which way I turn.

Really, when you announce something that is delayed without announcing anything beforehand, you are exposed, then you say that it is released the following week, then that it is delayed a few days, then that you aim to release it at the end of the week, now the following week..
You're right, they are doing a much better job at being transparent and communicating with the player base - thanks for pointing that out :)
A lot of your criticisms are valid and FDev has performed awfully, but you need to learn to pick your battles. FDev's poor communication and tendency to release broken updates has been a problem for a long time, but in this thread FDev is actually communicating with us for once and taking the time to fix bugs before release, which is what most of us have been wanting them to do for a while now. Criticizing them for their actions in a thread where they're trying to do what we want them to just makes you look insane.

Now if the update releases and is still utterly broken, that would be a good time to post your criticisms.
Exactly - MalicVR shared a great quote that sums it up nicely, something to the effect of "don't punish the behavior you want to see"

You wouldn't need ship interiors to do that. the "armstrong" moment could have been retained with just a room you are placed in when "disembarking" instead of warping to the surface, so that you are either standing in front of a hatch or on a ladder above the hatch that you can then open and walk/climb down.

Then to re-enter your ship, you do the reverse and once in the room you warp into the cockpit.

You avoid the argument that was made against ship interiors (it takes too long to get from cockpit to ground and back), while retaining the most impactful aspect of them (exiting your ship).
You have the same idea as mine, that is my question as well since odyssey launch, why they don't do it like that. it is simple, or at least just give us a little room and a single door so we can still experience the armstrong moment. The only answer for me is, they don't have time to modified every ship to have those "disembarking room", or they don't think about it at all.

Open only sandbox with cross platformed seamless teamplay
no thanks...... how about a purely PvE experience with rich detailed NPC's and the only MP would be inviting close friends into your instance to play coop, dropping open and just keep PG and add an offline . (see I can ask for random crap which was never*** advertised as being in the game too ;) )

**** excluding offline - that was advertised for a short while.

on topic I have probably missed it but, is there a new date for 11 or is it just watch this space? I don't mind either way aside from knowing my luck the servers will be down when I get an HR to play.

I still haven't worked out why rotating my ship also rotates the targeted ship in the hologram. They're still facing me at the same angle no matter which way I turn.
It is because the view shows the relative orientation of the target with respect to the orientation of your ship not it’s orientation with respect to where it is.

Would be wonderful.
I know .. it makes me so sad (relatively) how FD have largely ignored NPC's and AI stuff in favour of making features multiplayer only .

whilst I was not being serious as open is going no where and neither would I want it too... it would be a much better game from my perspective had they of gone in that direction. I do like what we have for the most part however.

Where did all these "we's" come from? Just asking because you seem to have a lot of them!
o7,
i'm part of "we".
I am still optimistic about the development of EDO and I think/hope there will be a lot of addition to the game.
BUT, considering "Odyssey" released almost a year ago ( still issues ), considering the number of patches since ( still issues ), considering the lack of communication...
I think his anger is legitimate.
Best regards and long life EDO, long life FDEV.

Greetings Commanders,

Some issues have been detected in our final round of checks before the launch of Update 11. Therefore we're taking extra time to apply fixes and moving the release to next week. Apologies for the further delay, but we trust what's coming will have you on the edge of your seat.

it may be a sad day for you mate.. and i get it..... ED has dissapointed in some areas... but a sad day for elite because you have had it now............................. i suspect the game will cope some how :D

i would accept that it was a sad day for Elite When Michael Brookes or Kay Ross or Sandro Sommarco moved on, (or any of the other past Frontier developers / community folks - is Dav Stott still about? )
