Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Ahhhh, Ant and Ebob back with bells on, lovely.

Still, least I now know what the memory/forgive and forget span is for you two Robertsians at least, 2-6 weeks apparently.

CIG - "It's all your fault we've delivered next to frak all"

Ant and Ebob vanish

Ebob's back after a fortnight and Ant a bit longer....all forgiven huh guys? back to CIG can do no wrong are we?

As I explained before, I was active in the SaltEMike discord watching the outrage, lol.

When did I say CIG can do no wrong?

Sorry we're so positive about SC! My dearest apologies!

Yeah yeah, I don't really believe in coincidences Ebob but carry on spinning that yarn by all means.

Don't apologise for being positive Ebob, instead try to at least be slightly balanced, rather than this almost religious devotion

I mean, you can check the chat logs on the Discord.

What religious devotion? We were just looking at some damn refueling gameplay!

Right Ebob, stop it. You may well have been on that Discord but that in no way prevents you from posting here at the same time, it literally takes seconds, stop making out it's an either or thing, it isn't.

I'm not a young man Ebob and what life has taught me is that the most likely explanation is usually the correct one. CIG blamed the backers, you and Ant vanish. You've admitted it was a rubbish move to me. So I put it to you that you and LittleAnt had nothing, NOTHING to say in CIG's defence so you both hid under a rock for a bit.

That's what I'm saying about balance Ebob, if either of you had any of it in you then one or both of you would have been on here proclaiming what they said was terrible unprompted like you are when you want to promote something they have done or are doing.

What should I say in CIG's defence? What is there that's not been said before, we can spew out the 400 million 10 years statistic a bunch more times but that wont make the funding number go to zero either. It's all been said before! The horse is liquified mush!

This is a discussion forum about Star Citizen, the problem with your 'disregard anything that went before' stance Ebob is that it goes against so much that is fundamental to life in general.

Our experiences of the past shade our decisions today, we live and learn from past mistakes. We endeavour not to have people in our lives that continually let us down, that break promises, that move goalposts.

So sure, bury your head in the sand, pretend that the broken promises to others of yesterday won't turn into yours of today or tomorrow. Refuse to learn from the lessons that CIG have shown and proved countless times in terms of their dependability, their productivity and their deliverables.

My point? You would never put up with the level of distrust and incompetence CIG have shown in any other aspect of your life so why is it ok if it's Chris Roberts?

Sir, this is a video game.

SC is the most heavily monetised early access title ever. The king of the kickstarters. The alpha of alphas.

The possibility that the $0.5 billion funds raised (and mainly spent) to date may not result in the pre-sold video game kinda underlines much of the intrigue ;)

What pre sold videogame? Star Citizen has like 3 versions of the pre sold video game

Again, semantics, but, by definition this is a video game

Well yes, that is true enough I suppose. You can launch the client, connect to a server, and spend time enjoying the experience as a game.

I would argue though, that it is not either of the video games that I paid for, and what has been produced thus far (which is of course in the very earliest stages of development and a pre-alpha work in progress) is really a bit pooh.

Kinda sums it up for me too ;)

... a bit pooh.
No offense, but that is Scotch to me. Especially the peaty stuff. Well, basically only the peaty stuff. Never believed that peat aroma jumbo - until someone served me one that smelled like a burning bog pit. Amazing - the description "peaty" was really spot on but how one would enjoy that taste remained a mystery to me.

Probably southwestern or Islay - a taste straight from the dentist's surgery.

Try Speyside - fuller and mellower and doesn't smell like the inside of a chainsaws fuel tank. I'd love to try a wee snifter of Star Citizens famed Radegast - but I'm fairly certain it'll whiff like ranta collectibles.
