Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Ha ha, 10 years ago : buy our game, every ship is made with ship interior in mind !

Aha, the standard response: Can’t answer the critiques about the last crap comparison, so slide to a new crap comparison instead! (Genius 😁)

We’ve been round this old 'X bad so Y fine' trope so many times. The scale of SC’s pre-order shenanigans are clearly more heinous.

(I got myself a lifetime of DLCs in game X for £90. They’ve delivered 2 of them so far, and I had a working game in the meantime. The comedy Starfarer alone cost 3x that... Want me to mention the $3000 Javelin? ;))

This is a bit like comparing the Enron fraud with my local grocery store having a 200$ rounding error when they submit their annual accounts to the tax authorities.

In addition to not knowing ED mechanics you also do not know about Elite development it seems. I mean, unless you are referring to the LEP alone which is probably a drop in the bucket of total sales, FDEV has simply not sold yet ship interiors to anyone. They have sold a ton of other content (much of it described for the LEP btw) that has been actually released though. CIG on the other hand has around a million buyers that have pre paid 450$ millions (getting closer to 450 than 400 now @Ebob 😋 if we believe CIG) for a game that 10+ years on has not yet been released.

Awesome... Registered almost 2 years ago, spent 20h only in a game he didn't like yet gets surprisingly stuck in one and only thread in the forums of the game he doesn't like, two thousands of posts to defend another game.

What a dedication. Why are you not somewhere else with people sharing the dream instead of getting contradicted? Are you a masochist somehow? Though I assume one have to be, or have to be extremely patient and resilient, to endure SC's development...

The guys over there are funny, atleast!

I am and I will not, the pay they are offering is laughable, and everything points at a rotten work environment. I paid, a long time ago, unreasonable amounts of money for a video game, and what was promised (Newtonian physics) is still not being delivered, instead I'm getting even more useless fluff and handwavium, while the core game engine stays broken beyond belief. The bug that was shown from my previous reply is completely unacceptable for a half billion dollar product that had 10 years of development done on it.
Then make your own damn Star Citizen! Start a crowdfund, you will surely make the money back.

I (grudgingly) admit that I quite liked that, maybe a bit long for my taste, but I thought it was very well put together overall. I don't watch streams in genereal, SC or other, I'd rather play literally any game myself, than watch someone else play, but something like that, yeah sure, I'll watch it. Apart from the nifty editing, I also found the graphics to be crisp and clean looking, maybe a bit too much so. It's certainly starting to look a bit dated by now, but still, at least to me, pretty good. I'd play it - if there was a game!

If you like that you will like these.

Well it's not is it, you and a lot of cultists usually are quick to point out it's only the alpha of video game. So is it alpha, or is it a game, because these are two very different things, and one is a complete, reviewable product, while the other allows people to test the limits of an engine by giving them development tools and specific scenarios that are definitely not meant to be real game loops.

and yet you play it quite a bit. interesting.

I do play quite a bit.
