See title. What would you want as a hypothetical tie-in promotion with a real zoo? Personally, I would love to see the Smithsonian National Zoo Conservation Pack:
- Przewalski's Wild Horse -- A small representative of the zoo's sizeable hoofstock collection, as well as a conservation success story that fits with the theme of the pack; highly requested by fans (#3 on meta wishlist)
- Golden Lion Tamarin -- One of several small mammals in this pack, the Golden Lion Tamarin is one of the most iconic Smithsonian animals barring the pandas; small, agile, and beautiful, and once allowed free roam over some of the park's woods. Also a conservation success story, as well as good representation for South America. Gives the pack an arboreal species.
- Black-Footed Ferret -- Another small mammal found at the zoo, with perhaps the most dire conservation status. Once almost extinct, it would be a great small mammal option, a good representative for the Great Plains, and a burrowing species for the pack -- somewhat. They don't burrow themselves, but regularly use prairie dog burrows, and could potentially use some version of the burrow shelter item.
- Japanese Giant Salamander -- Representing the Asia Trail (and East Asia) and the Reptile Discovery Center (and salamanders in general) this would be the game's first habitat salamander. It would likely be different from any species before it, requiring little to no land space, a small water area, and minimal enrichment and foliage. Could also work as an exhibit. Also, a rare and unique species held by only a few other facilities in the United States.
- (EX): Naked Mole Rat -- If included, would be the first exhibit mammal, and definitely use a totally new exhibit structure -- ideally, a tube structure like that of the zoo's Small Mammal House.
-
- Smithsonian Theme -- An elaboration on the classic theme, with a special focus on new decorative pieces. Potentials include:
- Signage: Modernist signage, both 3D and 2D.
- Statues: 3D facade pieces from the Reptile House, as well as species statues for the Anteater, Fighting Bears, Frog, Uncle Beazley the Triceratops, and of course the Giant Panda.
- Extensions: Further pieces in the concrete, red brick, and classic metal roof sets.
- Enrichments: For the apes, the Mister Button, which would allow them to press a button to spray mist on guests, as well as a modular O-Line Set, to allow orangutans to brachiate across your zoo. Other potential enrichment items include non-toxic paint kits for small mammals, dust bath for small mammals, hanging tire enrichment for large animals, and a small forage box for small animals.
- Prefabs/Challenge: This pack would also include a "Rock Creek Park" topography map, a challenge themed around the zoo, and blueprints adapted from several real buildings, including the Small Mammal House, Elephant Barn, Reptile Discovery Center, and perhaps even Amazonia.
