Incentive to migrate from console to pc

The fact that they didn't have this magical solution ready for the announcement (which would've created a fair bit of goodwill I'd say, and softened the blow for console players) tells you all you need to know. They're very good at stringing people along though, credit where it's due.

I suppose if it takes them long enough the workload will gradually disappear as people continue to abandon the game, so there's that.

Hmm so after investing around £2k on a decent PC you get a ship decal. That's going to ease the pain..
Not everyone would need to buy a new pc.

Specify "migrate".
Had a commander on console and creates now one on pc
Or how about not taking any and all opportunities to e-beg for stuff.

You're not Old Duck.
I play on pc and have the mk4, not begging but make proposals

It's like abandoning your two least favourite children, saying: hey, but I finally bought you the Lego set you always wanted...
Bet some children would be happy to trade their dads for lego.
And for players it would be at least something, not much but more than nothing

This is a company that blithely stated that "of course you can't change the HUD colors if they're 'baked in'" (along with bounty credits).
How long have they known consoles weren't feasible? I would bet on update 9 onwards tbh - that's quite a long time to think about some kind of sql script to migrate console users to PC.

So does this thread suggest there's not already an incentive?

If Odyssey isn't enough already I'm not sure what else would be if the issue was, say, the cost of buying a decent gaming PC. Nothing FDev can offer is going to overcome that if it's the issue.

Bit like an office pizza party to compensate for no pay rise.

A crazy idea (what else)

Everyone who migrates from console to pc gets the cobra mk4
If they already have it, then maybe a unique decal "exodus" or similar or an ingame shirt with "migrated from console and all I got is this shirt". I know sound like a tease but I would wear it.
The incentive is that PC is better at literally everything from gaming to having free multiplayer to upgradability to this neat thing called the internet. Who woulda guessed that the QOL increase that PC gives is part of the reason majority of elite's playerbase is PC.

u get better and more versitile hardware and you get access to a slew of free games and mods for some games you might already have. theres a lot more benefits to owning a computer than owning a console.

The incentive is HOTAS, pedals and Track IR. Alt-tabbing to Inara and EDDB. EDMC for quick build exports and system access through EDSM or similar.

And anyway the Cobra's a dog, innit? Even the people who have it don't fly it.

How about "you get to play oddysey" as an incentive?
