It puts their thank yous for our support in a complete different perspective.
Who knows Dreams.I don't regret a single penny I spent on Elite over the years. I have had tremendous fun and amassed a lot of good memories. I don't want my money back - all I would like is an assurance that I will be able to keep playing Elite in its current form at least. Not "currently", not in the next months or year, but until Elite Dangerous itself exists. The servers are there, the BGS is shared. I want to keep taking part in it, even if new content doesn't arrive anymore. This is what I'd like to have. And clear communication about why it's feasible (or if it's not, why not).
No, I love Elite and always have. I'm not too keen on the developers right now but let's have a sense of perspective.no, this taught me not to buy or trust frontier. EVER. just upgraded my rating on xbox to a 1 and a angry review. i recommend more do the same. teach them a lesson and make it a 1 star game on xbox at least.

I can understand where you are coming from I too am angry, it’s the way the management has handled the situation on this like keeping use on the dark close to an year and not saying anything in between, I spent A lot of money to be ready for Odyssey, New Xbox, Hotas and TV. And that with a lot of overtime work through Xmas which I did not spend with my family and now I have look into a PC rig which I can tell you is going to be very expensive for me on minimum wage so any one who say it cheap can take a running jump because it not, especially with rent, utilities and food going up.no, this taught me not to buy or trust frontier. I have microsoft flight simulator that runs great on xbox series x. I refuse that a game like elite that runs on toasters doesn't work on my next gen console. Don't offend my intelligence, Frontier is simply INCAPABLE OF PROGRAMMINGA two year old PC has problems with Odyssey, why ever believe it could perform satisfactorily on PS4 or Xbox?
Odyssey runs much better relatively with a faster GPU and new PC and would probably improve on a new gen console.
The marketplace fact that there has been a complete scarcity of next gen consoles to purchase for two years, let alone develop for, kind of makes it unprofitable.
It was always a shoehorn into consoles, there was always compromises. No more distraction from single codebase dev now..
Tell me none of the console players haven't had their money's worth 10 times over again.
Some consolation: I think the Horizon servers will be there for a while. Its costs pennies to run a P to P network.
Once separate, Horizons also could be come moddable eventually

Bingo.Same.
I can't comprehend why Frontier can't do what many others can.
All my games whether simple or resource heavy ones like Flight Simulator run very well on my Series X.
Developers with just a handfull employees run their games on multiple platforms, Hello Games comes to mind, NMS runs on pc both consoles and now they're adding switch too.
When the Ps5 and Series X came out it took them only a short time untill a more enhanced version of NMS was released, oh and full vr support too.
NMS might be simpler in code then ED but Hello Games runs on a fraction of devs compared to Frontier.
Bad choices and mismanagement are at full play here imho, I think Frontier's devs are more then capable but the higher ups (read Mr Braben) are either to stubborn or don't know how to lead a good game company.
I can imagine Mr Braben having this vision for Elite and that vision is the golden rule whether it's doable or not, whether that vision is in correlation with what players want or not.
Or there's the even worse possibility and they don't realy even know what they want, thing is though the higher ups are quite disconnected from their players base and maybe even from their own devs imho.
I think problem is that they are on time table they are trying stick with in the story and there is not much time left so they are saving time by sacrificing use both Xbox and ps to save money and time, I really don’t think there is a problem making the DLC for both consoles maybe the old systems, but not the new ones. It’s just a ideaSame.

I doesn't even have to run that well on Xbox One and PS4. Look at the Cyberpunk 2077 situation. The last-gen versions were never sorted out and probably never will be. But the game runs wonderfully on the new consoles. If Frontier really wanted to bring Odyssey to consoles, they could've done exactly this. Yes, the game would've not been optimized for last-gen, but it is what it is. Console players could've still played (and paid) regardless. It's not like absolutely no one has a Series X|S or PS5 to enjoy the game to its fullest.A two year old PC has problems with Odyssey, why ever believe it could perform satisfactorily on PS4 or Xbox?

Personally I don't think it's a matter of whether consoles (especially the PS5 and SX) can run it or not or a matter of whether the devs are capable enough to port it to console.I doesn't even have to run that well on Xbox One and PS4. I and around 30 million players around the world have one or the other. But I trust that you happen to have one, right?![]()
