Error 404 . You need to update your game.

This is almost comical ERROR 403 . I have had some recent issues with the game, Mainly the galaxy map locked up after I departed from Sag A. Its important to note the rest of the game ran fine!
I reported the issue to Frontier whom blamed my graphics card as it had not been updated for about a year. However I managed to turn off many of the options within the galaxy map and it seemed to clear the problem without updating the card drivers. So to keep Frontier happy I have updated the graphics card drivers and everything was back to normal with no determinable difference to the game........Today I try to play the game and this error comes up (see attached screen shot). Is anyone else got this as the game usually updates its self.

We are currently implementing Update 11 - servers are offline.

And yet the start page says server status ok. I assumed I can somehow corrupted the game files....so deleted it for a fresh download. Please would they put a message up on the start page when they do this? Thanks!

It would be nice if you could communicate this better......However many thanks. :)

The game communicates a broadcast to all players before the servers go down, and we also post well in advance on our socials and right here, on the forums.

And yet another instance of the Launcher's Server Status showing Green OK but they're down for an update!

The Launcher is the primary user interface to the game & that's the place to put "updating" info!!!!!!!!!!!

I've raised this several times. I know you're all under pressure, & sympathise, but this is an obvious thing to do!

I've just switched on & trying to start the game, wasn't aware of an update, also thought my files had become corrupted & have started a Verify before finding this info....

edit: it's half way through but I don't know what it's verifying if the servers are down!

I might be wrong, but did it say that the servers were going down, and when, in the post here on the forum, or was that info mainly reserved for Twitter users?

As others have said and as has been said many times in the past - you have a launcher window which people have to use so why not actually tell people on that page (it is only a web page) what is going on. I mean, seriously, at the moment we see this:

(Update in progress.)

Why not use this facility? Surely it is not beyond someone's capability to actually communicate with the player.

Um, they did, near enough on every social media platform here etc.

Short of sending the boys round to knock on your door and tell you that "the servers will be down for an update" I'm not sure what more they could have done...
