FD brings back community streams after abandoning their console playerbase????

I'll make an assumption and presume no, if its gonna be the same on forums as well as streams (content wise) no need for me to be here or watch them . Cheers for getting back to us in the past farewell and o7
@Zac Cocken

People are free to watch anything they want to. I have no problem with that. Yet, I would have to wonder why any console player would want to watch any Elite Dangerous stream or community discussion update, since they have been told they are no longer wanted (as well as that they were the source of FDev problems, that since they have been cut off, things now can "move forward").

I'm not faulting console players who will follow Elite Dangerous' progression and updates. I just don't see any purpose for it, and for many console players, it would only be upsetting. They might as well take their frustrations out on the forums until this all dies down and they, the console players, are forgotten.

I'm going to uninstall tonight. Even though I'm checking out now, I'll check back in for good news once in a while. Good news could be Braben selling, or Braben selling, or maybe even Braben selling.

Imagine thinking that a company not releasing an expansion to a computer game on a specific platform is "like your wife divorcing you" and believing a corporation communicating with its customers is a personal insult.

Just wow.

It was clearly a joke. Like or dislike the joke itself, but don't ascribe actual meaning to it. Sure, It's a sexist joke, but we're all adults here, aren't we?

Do you know that numbers of players on steam went up, while they were quiet? There is literally no benefit to them communicating as much as they used to or do. That they're going to, is a bonus for us.

They couldn't communicate because of the console situation. It was the big news they couldn't speak about. There are a few ways it could have been :
-they knew it was going to stop on console, and were on talk for free PC copies/account transfer and that kind of stuff
-they tried to port Odyssey to console, and make it a big good news. Sony and microsoft said "nope" (no cert). Turning it into a bad news. Would also explain why they will not port it to the new gen, which are much better than old gen, and on par with most good PC. Or just port Odyssey WITHOUT the DLC on console, since the FPS drop is only noticeable for spaceleg content, for the kind of FPS console run with
-they wanted a bad news-good news kind of deal, and waited for the FC interior update for the good news part

Now that it's done, they can resume communications

I personally think they tried to cert Odyssey. It's so obvious to me the logical solution would have been to have Odyssey build (not DLC) on console otherwise. Even without the DLC it would have meant no maintenance mode. And the DLC issue could have been tackled later on.

Except they didn't ? There was a steady decline since EDO launch, which was halted around the holidays. Then, it went down again.

They are quite a cynical company if you hadn't noticed.

Yeah, it’s not like people were demanding they restart the communications after the console news or anything was it…

Oh wait:

Really interested in why. Maybe they want to rub it in our faces or the developers (who are not the ones who would make this decision) are trying to make us feel better however they can.

Either way I can't wait.

For the bets that is.

Who wants to bet it will be emote only from the start or have to switch to emote only mode later on?
The simple answer to your question is because there is a PC player base still. From what I've heard FD will do what they can to transfer commander data to PC, although the actual process to do so hasn't been finalized yet.
