I now have the TrackIr5 and it does make flying much better, can barely wait for my new stick and throttle to arrive to complete the package. However when I am in my ship and try to access the side panels with the keyboard controls I cannot, and often when using the TrackIr to look at the panel if I turn my head just a tad the panel vanishes. Is there a way that I can still use the numeric numbers for the panels along with the TrackIr?

I like to just look at the panels, you need to find the spot and keep your head quite still, took a little practice for me..
There is a cmdr who has posted Track IR profiles that do a "snap to" so the panels are easier to get and keep up while you use them. I don't use them though. As i'm typing i can't remember his name - gone blank.
You can also use the hotkey for trackir to turn the tracking off, its F9 by default I think. and turn it back on when you're done.

Please do post if you recall. I've been looking for this profile since I lost it after reinstalling my OS.

Not sure what you can do with trackir as i have custom tracker but for me, those commands worked when i set opentracker to emulate joystick. The downside was that tracking was less prceise so i hope they let us have both things - native head tracking and keybinds for panels. To be honest, its beyound me why they did it the way it works in the first place.
