Nobody (almost) plays CQC. And nobody counts CQC ranks.CQC rank is strictly for CQC/Arena.
okCobblers, CQC is a good game.
Why?...replace it with Xeno-fighter rank, for example.
To make pilots interested in AXWhy?
But AX combat already counts as combat rank, not to mention it's actually one the fastest ways to increase it.To make pilots interested in AX
At least AX is a part of game, when CQC is a fifth wheel
What does that have to do with removing the rank?because the only people who play it are private groups?, i see no point to have a cqc match if you can't find anyone to start with.
Fair enough. CQC Tuesdays used to be a thing. Not sure if still are.i do like it, i just can't play it. has it always empty
Yeah, good luck to them.plenty of people play and enjoy CQC
Still, why remove the cqc rank rather than simply add a new one for AX?Yeah, good luck to them.
Meanwhile, CQC is not present in Elite space, but subgame from main menu.
And - we have rank for it IN Elite Dangerous space. Silly, imo.
Separating AX from Combat rank will encourage more CMRDs to paticipate more in AX activites, in space, and, I hope, on surface.
Also, AX rank will show CMDR's efforts in defending of humanity.
Right now thargs equated to human pirates and military, when thargs require different and (maybe) professional approach.
PS. Mining is just another way to get the stuff to sell, nothing more.
Yes, there is A LOT of room for improvement in CQC. Undeniably it's extremely barebones and forgotten by FDEV.CQC is pretty bust. There are some regular players who are pretty good but, because they have reached level 50 - with all its attendant perks on ship upgrades - very often their only competition is a low level player in the most basic ship. Game over - the dice are too heavily loaded in their favour. To make it more genuinely competitive, there would have to be a significant handicap system in play.
The possibility that you might introduce alternative ship types into the mix (including, for the sake of argument, for example, a Thargoid) - either as an NPC 'distraction' or Player piloted - is intriguing. It opens up the possibility of developing the CQC into an arena where, within reason, different weapons/engineering mixes could be trialed and the experience gained could inform your main game choices. Didn't the old DOS Wing Commander game have a ward-room 'Simulator' where you could practice? Perhaps a revamped/revitalised CQC could provide the same purpose?
