Ok guess its regulation all the way. Quick question though just so I am not confused, what jump range is everyone getting in regulation?

Hey the Banana is back. Whoohoo
She is indeed!

I should really officially state my intent to race

Cmdr. Name: Elastul Ma'fer
Ship Type: Regulation Cobra
Ship Name: Snakes on a Spaceship

I managed to get a run in this afternoon. It was all a bit of a rushed affair, but it was going pretty well until I came to scan the Datalink. Then I realised that I didn't have the fire groups bound... So I sorted that out, except it didn't work, and so I spent 1miute 25 seconds trying to get that to work 😐
It fine though. Oh except when I recalled my ship it went back and landed 4.8Km from the base, so I had to dismiss it and then recall it again... Still I ended up with hardly any hull and got a run on the board :)

(and now I realise I didn't have to dismiss my ship...)

Since this potential loophole has been brought up, I have added this important item to the rules:

  • Start from London Relay in Epsilon Indi with a fully fueled and repaired ship.
No, you can't start with a "pre-loved" hull ;)
Ooh, that's a good idea. I hadn't thought of that

I've submitted the best of this weekend's thrashes around the course, a slight improvement on my first run, but probably not enough to preserve my 1st place now that other people have entered. Oh well, the dream was good while it lasted. Last is still an option, though...

I looked up the thread from the original event, and found some maps. It seems I've stumbled on about the best route in and out of Cooper Arena, so now I just need to improve on my bouncing skills. And planetary approach skills. And docking skills. And landing skills. And fuel scooping while charging the FSD skills. Pretty much everything, really.

Onwards and upwards, erm, downwards!

I've had two cracks at it

This one killed me.
but I did it on this one.

It's brutal this one, that's one of the worst SRV drives I've done.
Both videos tell me they're for a mature audience. Is that because of all the death and destruction or did you get a bit sweary during the SRV section? 😆

First leaderboard is now posted!

There has been some frantic activity on the course so far with some mighty times being achieved already. Sgurr is staking an early claim to both Regulation and Open with two scorching runs despite not getting that 1% bonus for either. The scary bit is that they could still improve the Open time by 3 mins with a better SRV time.

Alec Turner is close behind in Regulation with the bonus for a 0% finish and a good SRV time though. The rest of the Regulation field have plenty of opportunities to gain a lot of time, as it's early days in the race.

Shaye Blackwood is hot on the heels of Sgurr in Open with a good SRV time and 1% finish in the Orca, as the rest jostle for positions with plenty of time to be gained.

Notable entries from Psykit and Epaphus, dragging a pair of Federal Corvettes around the course with gusto, and Martinjameson getting a 69% finish in Regulation. Nice. ( I now wish I'd made a time bonus for that)

Only one entry has failed scrutineering after an over-eager ground crew refuelled Phoenix_Dfire's ship at Bridger.

More than 3 minutes behind Sgurr already? And I thought I was only losing time on the SRV stage.

Intent to change ship to DBX I guess. The "Botany Bay" is lined up at the start with an as yet unnamed SRV. I just hope the jumps are still unobscured when I get off work.
