Enable multiple entry points for ships that allow it

Dear fDevs,
at some point you said that ship interiors would get boring after having to walk for the many times trough it just to reach the cockpit. However, you are still making us walk through it. only we have to do it from the outside.
for example in this picture, there's a perfectly good door I could use to access my ship right there. but I still have to walk all the way to the front to be able to board my ship. not to mention if this were to be a cutter or a corvette.
So... why don't you just enable more than 1 boarding access for those ships that clearly have

or simple give all ships boarding "areas" in all 4 directions

front
rear
left
right

Does not make much difference on the small ships, but it will make the experience the same on all ships, and some ships have the boarding on the back! And when you want to disembark, you can get to choose which direction to leave on and when you are docked, it would only have one option selected, the closest point to the elevator

I mean after carrier interiors dropped i never want to jump it in my ship again. I love walking through it to the bridge. Im sure ships would be the same. And ships like krait and diamondback would have a very short walk. If u dont wanna walk through a corvette or conda every time u could main a python or another medium or small ship and reserve your large ships for niche in space use only (mining/trade cutter, ship to ship combat corvette/conda would rarely need to be walked through)

I do not get what this has todo with the original post or my post...

Yeah, even if it was just entry points and you would always have to exit from the same point, it would still be a QoL improvement.

If done correctly and linked to some gameplay ship interriors never get boring. I play aslo SC and can tell you for 3 months I never got bored to walk in my ship.

Even better, let us actually walk in the ship while landed, imstead of black screen mega cringe teleport

OP wants to reduce the hangar running speed distance
You want to increase it.

Talk about goals 😂

That means only one thing: You haven't done enough walking.

In my case, after doing 300 on foot missions in a month, i get quite sick of running the hangar and i'd really wish to have an on-foot mission screen in our ships.
So i dont have to disembark

I know i am doing ON FOOT things but i dont ACTUALLY want to walk. Im perfectly content with a boring, weak, low effort, unimaginative, trash, mediocre, teleport instead of actually WALKING out of my ship like you know, the point of having legs, so you can WALK not teleport, go cry that it takes another 5 seconds.

I do 300+ on foot missions and am not sick of walking. Makes me crave ship interiors even more

Yeap, like running inside the ship, the hangar or inside the Carrier is very imaginative - especially when the purpose is to disembark to be able to reach the next mission giver

Elite: Marathon with the Anthem Song: 500 miles 😂

I sort of doubt that, but you'll get there eventually

Those were mostly on-foot mission (some 10-15 donation missions included, for rank purposes) for November.

I have done enough walking. More than you can imagine. This is the reason I am fed up and have temporarily stopped playing. Your problem is not the walking or number of on foot missions but the grindiness of the game that makes you hate anything that slows you down. This kills any attempt for immersion

U dont like walking to the mission giver thru your ship off your landing pad use a krait or diamondback. U know u dont have to use a large ship. But those of us who DO like quality immersive gameplay and would like to run through a T9 or corvette to get to the pilot's chair should be able to.

For EDO gameplay I use a DBX. Only a DBX, specifically because it's the only ship that ticks all Odyssey important (to me) checkboxes:
  • shortest hangar run distance
  • small pad (sort of implied by the above one)
  • best jump range
  • size 4 SRV Hangar
  • good shields (1000+ MJ, the more the merrier)
  • good weapons (at least 2 dumbfires and some shield stripping ability)

To be clear, i have nothing against ship interiors as long i get the option to teleport out instead of being forced to run through 150m of ship (Corvette, bridge in the back, entrance in the front) - including lots of turns and the occasional door
It does add to immersion, but it really kills the gameplay - especially when doing on-foot settlement missions and when we are forced to disembark and run to concourse mission npc or mission panels

Corvette doesn't have exterior door, therefore i think a ladder will deplpy from cargo scoop. Making the rin also shorter. But if u dont like 20 extra seconds of running DBX is a great choice if interiors drop as the cargo door in the rear would most likely be your enterance.
