Console to PC Transfers: News Blackout

I have grown tired of waiting for information about my transfer request. We have some vague holding statements that all transfers are on hold, even the stanard credit transfers, while they investigate options for full account transfers. I think its pretty bad form that we are being mushroomed on this. I would be happy to have the credit transfer and retire the PS4 account. Lack of choice and lack of information about when this might be resolved is unfair to players. Why not at least set a deadline that they are aiming for?

FDEV never considered that this question would be asked, which is why they dont have an answer...

...this underpins the issues that the player community has been making for years around communications and engagement, and that FDEV despite many promises to improve are unable to do so as it's a cultural problem led from the top.
 
Give it some time.
You dont really expect them to setup procedures for mass transfers in 1-2 weeks?
Especially if some legal proceedings are also involved

I would want my XB cosmetics to be transferred too. For some i payed real money, for others i worked hard (rewards from CG or events)

Just move the credits yourself using a fleet carrier. 🤷‍♂️

What you want OP?

FDev to release a twice daily Statement saying they're still investigating the options?

Frontier have always operated on a 'need to know' basis...................you don't need to know anything yet, as they are looking at options and nothing has been decided by Frontier!............when they've decided, you'll know;)

Legal issues may indeed be afoot and that could turn out to be a genuine and forgivable excuse for the delay/silence.
But to your first point, while I wouldn't expect the procedures to be fully in place tomorrow (ignoring that they should have anticipated the requests), a simple declaration that it WILL happen isn't hard to make. Unless it's technically really hard to do and they remain uncertain that it's possible (I honestly can't believe that) or beyond their legal power to enact (unlikely?) then its really bad form to not make such a declaration.

Well no, they can never do a mass transfer, some people simply can't play on PC because they don't have one, any transfer will have to be individually implemented on player request, and I suspect this is part of the problem, how many thousand accounts will apply for transfer on that first day, what about the people at the end of the queue, how long will they need to wait? A more sensible option would be to implement cross play if possible and then let the console players do it themselves by simply stop playing on Consoles.

I am all for full and free transfer from Console to PC, but if you get a large part of the console player base immediately applying that's going to be a problem, and we don't know if cross play will be possible at all.

You've answered your own statement here... It almost certainly is a hard statement to make because of one or both of those reasons. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

They already did that.
Arf commented on twitter about that and people that posted support requests regarding transfers (at least some of them) received a mass mail informing them the transfers are on hold (the current "credits" only method) while they're analyzing the possibility of more complete transfers

I don't have any timescale expectations because nothing has been communicated. I'm not really bothered about a full account transfer but I'll accept all the assets being liquiated and transferred to my PC account. So I think first some communication then some choice maybe even leading to an anticipated timescale or dealine. Nothing to do with 1 or 2 weeks.

See replay to Northpin. Not a twice daily statement or even a twice weekly statement. Just a single statement that sets reasonable expectations. Further information could and should be provided as and when the original staement no longer holds true.

We can live in hope. As things stand we are left to speculate. Will we still be having this conversation in six months time?

Legal issues would be the exact reason why they just can't say "yes, we can do it in x specfic or non specific amount of time".
