Guests in Wheelchairs

I was really hoping that at some point we could get some Guests in Wheelchairs, mainly cause we have sloped paths that we can make and not make them just stair.

also it would add diversity to the guests and also a small consideration players would have to take for disabled people, which they could either add in or not.

From a gameplay perspective, this sounds like it would make things harder with little return. I'd be open to it if there was also a little wheelchair lift we could install so we didn't always have to try and build ramps.

well you don't have to catter to them, but it would open the zoo up more for more people of all groups, not all places are wheelchair accessible anyway.

Agreed. Frontier did a great job with the diversity of guests except for disability. It's estimated that 15% of the world's population have a physical disability, which goes way beyond just wheelchair users, and it's deeply disappointing that disabled people continue to be invisible.
Strollers would be another thing that would be neat in game...perhaps also have a rental thing...I'd also love to see the electric wheelchairs, my mother had to use one after some leg surgery and we ended up at the zoo.

I would love this! It could come with an update including lifts, and part of the guest's happiness metric could be based on whether they can find a path to the destination they'd like to go to! 😁
Although I have little game building knowledge, I believe it might be a bit of a tricky build to implement happiness metrics and paths to destinations. still a good idea

As someone who uses a walker I'm always startled how little builders think about accessability in zoos, then call their zoo "realistic". Most of these zoos would lose a lot of money, because not only people with a physically disability wouldn't visit their zoo twice, but also families with strollers and prams. And while I would love some more representation, guests with small children and babys would be cool first. They could complain when they can't reach a foodshop etc, and the guest flow would drop.

I'm not completely against wheelchair users in game, but it's really really tiring and annoying that media reduces people with disabilities aaaaall the time to (paralyzed, sad) people in wheelchairs or people with down syndrome. So sometimes that inclusion can feel way more stigmatizing than leaving people with disabilities out as a whole.

Dear builders and content creators of all kind: If you want to raise awareness and be kind people, build accessible even in game and don't call it "too hard" , "not worth it", or similar things.

The zoo I used to work at was somewhat inaccessible for “physically disabled” people, because of steep uneven paths. We would try to do “accessibility” days where we would have our team constantly running helping people get around easier. It would be interesting to add in like a tram/smaller transport that can be used easier within the zoo rather than a big “ride”
